Gecko's Backpackers is housed in a historic building, it is a very quiet place, it is the only hostel that where alcohol is not allowed here in Cairns, The reason for this is trying to keep peace and tranquility.

There are 21 rooms in total: double, triple, quadruple, double and single. There are no bunk beds at all. There are only shared bathrooms. Linen is provided for free, including towels. Some rooms have air conditioning and some have fans.

You can relax in the common area, in the TV room or read a book in the library. Outside there is a wide open space and a big pool. A fully equiped kitchen is available inside 24/7 as the laudry room. . Free Wifi. Tea and coffee 24 hours.

The hostel is located near the shopping Center of Cairns and Coles supermarket is within walking distance. Most of the attractions are less than 1 km away. To reach the center of the city go through the mall, it's just a 10-minute walk.

Gecko's Backpacker hostel is really comfortable hostel, the mattresses are new, the atmosphere is also very quiet because it is not a party-hostel. It is designed for peace and relax.
