Angel waited for us to let us into the apartment and was very kind explaining things to us and answering all our questions. He left us his number to contact him in case we needed anything. The apartment was very clean and in a great location in Centro Habana, walking distance from Havana Vieja.
We had a housekeeper come every morning to make us breakfast which was extremely delicious. She was extremely warm and friendly and made our stay in the apartment even more special.

If you want to know the real Cuba, stay here rather than in a touristy area. Take a taxi for 5 CUC to Old Havana. Definitely sign up for breakfast!

30 minute walk to Habana Vieja tourist attractions and restaurants. Kitchen area needed a good scrub. Did not compare well to other places I stayed for the same cost.

The apartment was a little too far away from the central tourist area -- it was hard to find water, food, places to change money.
The building was noisy and we initially didn't feel safe. We had someone beating down our door in the middle of the night and always felt the need to lock ourselves into the apartment whenever we were home.
There was supposed to be a safe but it didn't work, so we had to hide our passports.
Overall, it was clean and the landlord seemed nice, but we didn't feel entirely safe there.
