Rosa is very nice lady and knows some English. The location is not the best one and it's not a colonial style house but still ok to stay in.

Great place, would highly recommend. Rosa is extremely helpful and kind. Central location, 15 min walk to old Havana, 30 min walk to Vedado.

Rosa was very nice and helpful. (Note: she only speaks Spanish). The room is simple but has a comfortable bed and AC and a private bathroom, which is all you really need. The room is in Central Havana, which is not touristy at all and you will get to see the real Havana and what real Cuban life is like. We walked everywhere from this location. It is a little bit of a walk to old havana but not bad, and we did it multiple times with no problem. If you don't want to do the walk there are taxis everywhere that will take you for not too much money.

Rosa is fantastic, a true host who made our stay in Havana extra memorable. Her place is clean, centrally located, and very well priced! I felt like I got a real sense of Havana, with Rosa's tips and advice. Also a great place to meet other travelers if you're traveling alone. Breakfast was delicious (fresh tropical fruit, eggs, juice, Cuban coffee). I definitely recommend staying here!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Rosa is not only a host, but a second mother who ensured that I was safe and well-cared for, and connected me with ppl throughout the island as I continued my travels. The apartment was clean and centrally located between two must-see neighborhoods (Old Havana and Vedado). There is a mall with a supermarket 3 blocks away and a smaller store that sells drinks and snacks 1 block away. If you don't want to go, she stocks the fridge with water. She offers breakfast with fruit, eggs, bread for a minimal fee. Wifi spot very closeby (wifi in homes is still not possible anywhere in Cuba). Overall, excellent experience in Havana, and a lot of that had to do with Rosa's hospitality. I'm going back to Rosa's hostel next time I'm in Cuba!

Not recommended. We arrived late at night and the owner hadn't anything in the fridge not even water to offer us and there was no shop near by. Not very clean but acceptable.
The owner's reply
I'm sorry your experience wasn't optimal. I do indeed usually stock the fridge with water, and apologize that there was none left when you arrived. There is a mall with a grocery store 3 blocks away and a smaller store that sells drinks and is open until late just one block away. I have hired help that cleans the apartment daily, but I appreciate your feedback and will talk with my staff. Thanks for visiting.

We arrived at 12pm-she offered no water, no snack, no smile.☹️The promised taxidriver didn't pick us from the airport.

We felt totally lost in her casa! She does not speak English! We had to ask for everything, for towels, warm water, etc..

For two nights we paid 52.- definitely too much!!!

She offered no breakfast.

The rooms are clean and Rosa is very sweet! Make sure you speak Spanish because she does not speak English. We were a little disappointed that Rosa does not serve breakfast, though it said so on Hostelsclub. The location is ok and safe but for us it was too far from all the main attractions and restaurants (about a 30 minute walk). I'd recommend a casa closer to Old Havana.

Rosa is so amazing and helpful! A perfect intro to cuba. Her area is nicely located between Vedado and Old Havana. Trust me, you don't want to stay in Old Havana. Only bummer is that she did not have boiled water like advertised and we never had food there.

The owner's reply
I am glad that you felt safe and met other travelers in my home. This is my goal for young travelers traveling alone.

The place is perfect to live the whole experience in The Havana. Rosa is a very good person and very kind. The best place to be in Cuba.

Rosa is an absolute sweetheart! I, and later on my friend, had a wonderful week in central Havana with her in her home. It was decidedly the best deal one could find in Havana.

Nice place to stay for a few nights. It's really cheap in comparison to other places. The location is okay. You do walk sometime to get to Havana Vieja but during that walk you see a lot of the city and also Havanna Centro.

My personal advice is not to stay in Havanna for more than 3 days. There just not enough to see and it is dirty and run-down city. Only the four main squares are nice. The rest is falling apart.

IMPORTANT: some people wright ratings where they say that Rosa speaks really good or perfect English. This is NOT true. Her English is really bad and we were only able to communicate with hands and feet. Not really a problem, because that's what you are going to do all day in Cuba if you don't speak Spanish, but it is inconvenient if you think she speaks fluent English. And I was definitely in the right Casa and wasn't dragged to an other one by some jinetero

Rosa's place is the entry door to Habana and the entire country. The location is OK, halfway between old and new city. Rooms are practical and clean. And Rosa herself is much more than a host: She makes you feel welcome, at home, and safe, and has advice and contacts in and beyond Habana. Certainly recommended.

Great time spent at Casa Las Rosas. Daisy and her grandson Jose were very hospitable, kind and helpful to me when I stayed there and made me feel like part of their family.

Stayed at Rosa's for four nights in total and had an absolutely great time there! Rosa's has a homey feeling and Rosa herself was very kind. I was ill on the second day of the stay (a touch of a stomach flu which has nothing to do with Cuba I'm sure) and Rosa, not feeling well herself, even offered me some medicine - fantastic! The room is simple with three beds. There is also a locker in each room to store valuables. When I was there, the weather was quite cool but I notice that there was an aircon so heat shouldn't be a problem. Simple and tasty breakfast is provided for an additional cost (3 CUC for me when I visited).

On the downside, the location isn't the greatest - it's a 20-minute walk to Habana Vieja and a 15-minute one to Vedado. Yet, Rosa's is just off Allende, which is brightly lit at night, so at least you don't have to worry too much about returning late. It's also pretty close to a big shopping centre on Allende, so location-wise it's not all bad. Also, the water pressure of the shower in the bathroom is a little on the low side. But all in all, it was a very nice stay.

Casa de Rosa was amazing. She was extremely helpful and is such a beautiful person. They cooked us breakfast every morning which was lovely and would always check up on us to make sure we were okay. Even though we couldn't speak much Spanish, Rosa did her very best to communicate with us! She organised us accommodation when we wanted to go to Trinidad and transport as well! I would recommend anyone to stay with her! She's beautiful!

Rosa was an amazing host! As a young woman traveling alone, she gave me lots of helpful advice about the city and culture. She was patient with my mediocre Spanish! She made me feel so welcome in her home - even inviting me out for her birthday celebrations with her friends and to a party with her family at the house. I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to Cuba! The only slight negative was that her flat was a 20 minute walk to the Old Town; on the other hand, there was cheap food and a grocery store nearby. If you really want to learn about Cuba (rather than just staying in a grand room a stone's throw from the tourist sites), I highly recommend staying with Rosa! Thank you, Rosa!

The casa owner Rosa is amazing, she has so much love in heart and cares about everyone who stays in her casa. Rosa is like our mother in Cuba! Casa is not too far away from Capitolio(15-20 mins walk), everything is handy nearby. :)

Rosa is amazing person always really to help (she explained to me where and how to exchange the money). Even there was some confusion on price for my booking she charged me exact amount as per booking, bathroom was clean, same as a room I was staying. Location wise- perfect if tu want to feel more local otherwise go to the fancy hotel, but it would be never to same!

Undoubtedly the best place to stay in Havana.

Rosa is very helpful and makes you feel at home. You can really trust her.

The whole accommodation is perfectly clean, very well located, near the centre, safe, and there is even the Internet (which is hard to find in Cuba).

I couldn't recommend this place enough!

Rosa- incredibly welcoming and caring, our Cuban mum! Excellent location 20 minutes walk from Havana Vieja. Great value rooms with a delicious breakfast included. Rosa took the time to explain what you need to know about Havana, where to go, information on great local places, and even took the time to show my friend around Havana. As a girl travelling on my own I felt safe walking to and from the house and the centre on my own at night. There is free internet access in the casa in the evening which is great, considering internet access is expensive and not easy to find in Cuba. A great stay, felt as if I was staying with family! Metele p'alla Rosa!

The location is a good 25-30 mins from old havana - but being right in the middle of vedado and old havana means you can access both.

Rosa is really friendly and looks after you well. Having compared the breakfast you get there to some other Casa's it's a little lacking however I guess the value makes up for it.

Thanks Rosa.

Nice and quite place to stay, at a very competitive price. It is located in a lively neighborhood quite close to the downtown, with lots of small stores and public transportation available nearby.

Rosa, the owner, is very kind and helpful. She will provide you with lots of tips on how to enjoy a fun and safe time in Havana
