Very Friendly old couple with a beautiful terraza which unfortunatelly is at a bigger street. Not super central but easy tp get both to old town as well as Vedado.

The couple who run the hostel are absolutely lovely. We were welcomed with a smoothie and got to practice our Spanish learning about their lives. Also in the morning they make a beautiful breakfast for 4 CUC. Really lovely stay, my favourite part of my Cuba trip.

Ana and Miguel run their hostel with open arms and an exceptional hospitality. I visited their hostel several times and each time I was received with great friendliness. Ana's breakfast is just marvelous. Great place to start your holiday in Cuba/Havana: here you will meet other travellers and exchange info on great places, travel tips etc.

Ana and Miguel were so amazing. The casa was so nice and the service I received was very much appreciated. It only were they both pleasant and helpful, but they did on site money exchange and gave me maps to help navigate the city. The extra cost of 4 CUC for the breakfasts every day were totally worth the money as the terrace where I ate was amazing and spacious, and the food was deliciously home cooked with an array of fresh fruit, fresh bread and a wide variety of egg dishes each day. I would highly recommend staying there!

This place is amazing and after your huge breakfast in the morning you do not want to leave the amazing terrace and the owners, Ana and Miguel. Here you will find welcoming people who care about their guests and they will do all they can to help you, giving you a lot of suggestions for your trip in Cuba.

I was one month in Cuba and the 10 days I spent in La Terraza in Havana were the most enjoyable. Very warm welcome from Ana and Miguel who will make you feel like at home and are always ready to help. The rooms are very quiet and the terrace is perfect to rest or have an evening reading. Ana is an excellent cooker and I highly recommend to have at least one dinner in the casa, in addition to the breakfasts, you won't regret... The location was perfect for me as I didn't want to be in the tourist area (where you permanently get harrassed by jineteros) and from there you can easily reach Havana vieja and Vedado by foot.

And at last you'll have a very human relation to your hosts, "Herz und Seele", I warmly recommend La Terraza..

I walked out. The owners seem nice enough but I found the exemption ally frustrating and tedious when trying to checkin. Then they would not let me rest for 5 minutes demanding continually for my passport which I informed was in my bag and I'll get it in 5 minutes. In the meantime I had a copy handy. They wouldn't relent and given also for A/C in the shared room you need to pay 25USD despite the individual beds being charged at 10USD and the hostel club site saying it was included. The location is right on the main and loud avenue also. Go stay on Neptuno the hostels there are great and the location is the best!

I would highly recommend staying here! It is a 15 minute walk to the malecon, old havana, and vedado neighborhood and is located on a central road, good for taking a cheap shared taxi home! The couple who run the house are also very sweet and cook amazing breakfast. They're great people - I would stay here again any day.

Apart from very touristy places this casa offers a real cuban experience in Centro Havanna. It's a 15-20 min walk to Havanna Vieja though. The rooms are big with high ceilings and basic furnishing. The huge terrace with rockin chairs has many opportunities to sit.Very lovable couple.Very nice experience there.

Really nice location in Old Town. Anita, the owner is very kind and the breakfast is great, although not before 9am ;)

Very simple but comfortable rooms. There is one without a/c but there is a fan.The balcony is cozy.

The only thing not super is that we don't have the keys, so they have to go downstairs all the time to open the door but they are always there.

The room is good and the location is fine. However it is near a main street and since in Cuba are many old cars you have some air polution and noise from the cars on the main terrace. The breakfast and dinner are great! The casa owners speak very less to none English... however they try to be helpful as much as they can and are very friendly.

I would defenetly tell turists to stay in Vedado instead of Centro Habana. I would have prefered. The hostel is clean but has a very sad atmosphere. Hard to tell, because their situation is really hard (politicaly and economicaly speaking) and we don't want to harm the old couple, but thinking about the tourists, I would like them to have a lighter experience then we had.

The location is near Chinatown, not so far from the city center. They have several rooms but only one with private bath. The host is an old couple, very nice and friendly but speak little English. It's good if you want to practice Spanish, because the lady likes to chat with guests...

I loved my stay at la Terraza, I initially booked it for 5 days not knowing what to expect and I ended up staying for 3 weeks. The place is very clean and the "terraza" very charming, like an oasis in the middle of a busy city. Ana and Miguel are wonderful hosts and Ana's food is the freshest and tastiest I had in Havana.

Anna and Miguel were wonderful hosts during our time in Havana. Anna is a brilliant cook and her breakfasts kept is full for the day. Location is about 20 minute stroll from Habana Vieja. Hot shower. Beautiful balcony for people watching.

For me, the only true "hostel-like" experience I came across in Cuba. Met some cool people here on the nice terrace.

The only downside: although there is no curfew, you have to ring the bell and wake up the owners if you come back late!

Highly recommend! You really feel at home at this guesthouse. The rooms are located in the owners actual house, which is very clean and has an amazing roof top deck which overlooks the streets of Havana. We had an AMAZING traditional meal there also, which they offer as an extra for $6CUC. The food most definitely better than what you would get at a restaurant! So tasty and so much of it! Breakfast is also included, also very delish! Both the owner and his wife speak English which was very helpful also. It is however quite far from the old Havana center, but taxis there are about $10CUC!

The location is very good. You can walk to the Old Havana, coast line and to the area of Venado very easily and quickly. It gives more possibilities to be located 'in between'.

The family is very friendly and takes cares of you. I happened to be ill while traveling and the hostel took care of me as if second family, only in Cuba.

Rooms are basic, nice and beds are good. Locked closets are also spacious. The only negative thing I found was that warm showers were sometimes hard to get but I managed to do well with a little colder water.

In general I would recommend this hostel. I had a good time!

I had a great time at La Terraza! It is a nice small hostel, very intimate: you will feel at home! The rooms are nice and clean, and the terrasse is perfect to chill! Miguel always has very good recommandations about what to do in the city, and he is also a taxi driver so he can take you places. Anita's food is absolutely delicious, the best that you can find in Habana and for such a good price! (3 CUC for breakfast, 6 CUC for dinner) - huge portions! I highly recommand staying there, they are a wonderful family, super welcoming and friendly! I hope I'll get the chance to come back there one day!

beautiful house, full of positive energy. The family atmosphere, providing warmth and feeling like you belong there and you're not a guest. Family that cares about you will give you all the information about Cuba, about places to visit, places to avoid, places to hang out. The hosts will tell you cheapest way to go, how to avoid scams, where to shop, walk. The food that mistress is preparing will introduce you to Cuban cuisine and it is so amazing that long after you go from Cuba you will dream about it. You will always be safe and secure in La Terraza. If you need help at any time of day or nighh, the family will be there for you. Wonderful experience that I would recommend to anyone who wants to learn about Cuba and enjoy its beauty, La Teraza is the place to start.
