Casa Dona Edita in Matanzas was by far THE BEST place we stayed in Cuba.Great location, fantastic staff, spacious bungalows and dining area, big and exotic garden. We totally recommend the place and definitely would go back.

A nice and warm welcome place. I stayed here some nights when I arrived in Cuba and when I finished my holiday.
Alay and his wife are superfriendly and take care of lots of things. There rooms are great. A avocado tree is almost next to your door.
Lovely tasteful breakfast and food.
Luna, the youngest dog, is so sweet and funny.
Alay knows a lot and give you interesting and good information about a lot of things. His car, a beautiful old one, can pick you up or bring you to the airport. Or show you interesting other places.
Psssst, this is a hidden gem in Matanzas!

I'd like to thank Alain, his wife and Marta, who hosted us in casa Dona Edita for their hospitelity, comfort and the most delicious lobster ever! Very nice place to stay in Martanzas. If i ever go to this town again i'll defenitely ask Dona Edita for accomodation!

The casa is one block from the sea front and a hidden gem. The room has air conditioning and has its own kitchenette as well as a private bathroom. Alay and his wife are friendly and welcoming and the two cooks are superb; we had two lovely evening meals and great breakfasts - the best omelettes in Cuba. We walked from the Casa to the nearby Bellamar Caves (which are worth a visit) and into the old town and back.

Wonderful house in a great setting. The most relaxed house we had in Cuba. Martha, the cook, can make you the best meal you'll have in Cuba. If you pass by Matanzas you definitely have to stay in this great house.

We had an amaaaazing stay in Matanzas, Casa Dona Edita! We had an entire house for ourselves, a garden with 2 hammocks and the most amazing hosts! They made sure we had everything we needed, welcomed us with a drink and a sigar and were worried about us when we got home late one night after losing our car keys. Their English was veeeeeery good too! The dinner we got from their chef Martha was the best I've had in entire Cuba (try the lobster!) and their pets (dog and cat) are very sweet but not too clingy. We were sad to leave Matanzas, because we really liked our stay.Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay and wish we had been there more than one night. Alay has worked really hard to create nice rooms and a great garden and eating area. He speaks great English and went out of his way to make sure everything was OK for us. We went snorkelling in his lovely '55 Ford Fairlane and saw a manatee! Great place, great people, no hesitation in recommending.

During our awesome trip across Cuba in May2016 we had the delight of staying at this great casa!
Very clean, very friendly hosts, great food, well stocked drinks fridge, air conditioning!
We would defiantly recommend a stay hear if visiting Matanzas Cuba.

The best hosts from our whole stay in Cuba. We spent our first night there. The place is great, with nice outside porch where you can have breakfast and superb lobster for dinner (don't miss it) or you can use the hammock to chillout. Alain supported us in arraigning a casa for our last day in Varadero.
