Don't expect something outrages fot this price etc. It is dirty and the staff is kind of grumpy. The location is great and the bed linnen are soft. For one night its okay, but If you want to stay longer, I would not reccomend this hostel.

I found the Southend Hostel practical, but quite dirty and not very cozy. Only one lightbulb was working in the lounge, so reading was not an option. If you are not careful when flushing some of the toilets, the water will keep running. The kitchen has only two hot plates and I had to wait 30 mins to cook a small pot of pasta.

It has been the worst place that I've ever slept. It was dirty, plenty of stains and with a huge smell of dust. Kitchen was the worst part. Believe when I say that we changed our menu to not using anything from the kitchen. Even our own tuppers were used as a mug for the café.

It's one station away from the Hauptbahnhof which is not so convenient, and is rather difficult to find. The rooms are quite old and always dim, the beds are shaking a little bit...I didn't feel welcomed by the hostel. And the lift is broken, which made me carry my case up for 4 floors. Maybe that's why the price is cheap. But the staff is quite nice.

Everything was fine and for reasonable price. Just I would appreciate more developed kitchen with a cooker, cutlery, fridge. Wonderful and friendly staff, thanks to Jochen! Definitely stay with Southend Hostel Bremen!

The whole hostel smells cigarette, it is not too confortable. Bathrooms are very clean, but not the rest of the rooms. Staff very very friendly and willing to help, they speak english. Perfect location, you can reach everywhere by walking.

Small but decently clean room. Provided lockers for belongings but lack of power outlets near the beds and lack of wifi explains its low price

It was cold in the room, the window couldn't be closed. The shower was broken, so the pressure was weak. There is no wifi connection in the room. No kitchen to cook.

While nothing special, it certainly is a good hostel and its location right next to old Bremen could hardly be better. What you get are rooms that are by no means luxurious, but do the job just fine, free Wi-Fi in a somewhat cosy common room and a great entry point into the Alstadt. Overall, well worth the 15 euros.

Perfect location on the quiet street but still in central. Cheap. Very clean. Man in the reception was helpful and friendly. Bed was good. Interior decoration was shabby but I didn't mind and same time it felt pretty cosy :) I stayed 2 nights and will go again next time. Only thing I missed was bedside lamps, room was pretty dark and needed more light at some points.

We stayed there for 1 night in a 2-bed room. Unfortunately the room was full of bedbugs. After 1 hour in bed, I was completely full of bites and I got up again. I did not sleep the whole night. No help from the hostel team. I suppose they knew it before because of the large number of bedbugs.

YES: Great and very helpful staff! Nice and clean lobby. Tasty and good value breakfasts.
NO: Slept in the 10-beds dorm. The sheets were quite dirty and the beds creaked a lot and were uncomfortable (uneven).
OVERALL: Recommendable, but smaller rooms preffered.

We liked this place after all, even if the elevator was out of order and our room was on the fourth floor, the office was often closed and the moquette was clean but stained and ruined by the age, and the mattress was a bit old and consumed too... anyway, the room was comfy and clean, we even had a kitchen, Sandra from the staff was really lovely and the hostel is only a 7 mins walk from the city center. For such a cheap price, it's worth it!

This is, as I've read on a wall of the hostel itself, "the shittiest hostel ever". The floor (moquette!) looked like it had never been washed since it was built, and it smelt like feet, sweat and shit 24/24h. the blanket and the pillow had strange brown marks on them. I HIGLY recommend to book another hostel, if you don't want to have the worst stay ever.

Great budget place to stay in Bremen!City centre is in walking distance (10 mins) and if you are going eg. to the outlet zone, busstop is really close.
