Description

Farm holidays Neðra-Vatnshorn provides accomodation in a charming old farmhouse newly renovated which once was the home to the farmer and his family.

1 twin bedded room ,one double room with a doublebed and one family triple room with an extra bed for a child. All rooms do have hand basins.

Breakfast is available but not included in the price (11 euro per person) and consists of homemade breads, jams from berries picked at the farm and a paté of lambmeet from the own production.


Jams knitted handcrafts and other handcrafts are also sold at the farm
There are shared facilities like WC and shower, a sitting room with TV, radio, books and games for all guests, and shared kitchen.
A jacuzzi with massage is on the terrace outdoor, a table and chairs in the garden and a barbecue for all guests available

The farm is a working farm with more than 400 sheep and 40 horses. All guests are welcome to join us at work. I offer guided tours around the farm with looking inside the barns and introduce my guests to the machines used on the farm. Furthermore guided walks from the farm to watch the horses, mares with foals. Children can sit on a horse and on a tractor as well!

Special events are the lambing time in May and have a look at the mares when they have their foals in end May and in beginning of June,gathering together the sheep from the mountains and round them up in the middle of September. Round up horses in end of September and begin of October You are welcome to take part in those events.

Other recreations are short and longer hiking trips from the farm and places nearby, horseriding at the neighbourhoods farm, troutfishing in lakes and rivers in the peninsula and in a little stream belonging to the farm on arrangement.
Swimming pool and hot tubs are within 10 min. by car.

Many interesting places to visit in the peninsula like small waterfalls, a pituresque rock in the sea and watching seals. There are also severla museums and handcraftshops. During summertime there are two bigger events in the area, the feast fire in Hunathing in July and the feat of Grettir the strong a famous hero , second weekend of August.

For wintersports the farm is within the skiing area in Tindastóll mountains, 1 hour by car and ski can ber rented.
Skating at the lake by the farm and walk with ski here around the farm( skates and walking ski available here).
