About us
Meliaresort is the first house museum open to the public. The building, built in 1200, was a Norman fortress, a factory for weaving fishing nets, an aristocratic residence. Restored in 2014 it has medieval houses with a splendid Norman chapel, but also a floor with Liberty rooms and suites, decorated with elegant stuccoes and frescoes at the beginning of the last century. All the furnishings are period but there is no lack of modern comforts.


Accommodation
The historic building has ten accommodations including rooms, apartments and suites. Each accommodation is equipped with private bathroom, air conditioning, TV, minibar, bathroom products, internal telephone and safe (on request).


Services and activities
You will be greeted upon arrival in a welcoming lobby with high beamed ceilings. Inside a typical Arab and Sicilian courtyard where you can read and taste traditional and ancient drinks or a drink.Also in the courtyard is the entrance to the Norman Chapel, a jewel that dates back to the Knights Templar. The splendid breakfast room has a bar corner and lounges where you can entertain yourself with drinks and board games.

Surroundings
Meliaresort has an ideal location. The building is located in the oldest part of the historic center of Mazara, called Casbah because it was built by the Arabs in the 9th century. A few minutes walk away all that the city has to offer: museums, shops, restaurants, bars, shops and the beach in the city where you can swim or sunbathe.
