Hostel California

It was really dirty and staff was not kind. Very boring place

The hostel is located within walking distance from the Milano Centrale, and this is its main advantage.

The staff was very unfriendly nd incompetent. He took one hour to find our reservation. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone despite it's cheap.

registered for 3 nights but had to stay 2 Hotel was awful. The cleaner was the admin, housekeeper, and she bust into the room often during the day casually. I don't know if he was a regular sleeper theres, but she should come in and lay down and kiss and cuddle the guy, I suppose that is her boyfriend, in bedroom. Would make the room uncomfortable. The bathrooms always had a small to it. Wifi system was also down when we tried to double check my 2nd reservation. Bunkbed bars are on the left side, blocked by a wardrobe, so it was difficult to climb!Kinda far from where everything happening, so you'll have to uber or take the trolley. It is maybe sufficient if you're a desperate older man, since I did not see any young people that booked there, but for a girl, no. I had to cancel that hostel and go back fo my first one because it was unbearable.

this place really worths this money.

First and foremost they lie about the price , you should add 4.5e to the price per day as they charge extra for linen and city tax

second the beds are horrible and they lie about the number of beds per room. We booked for 12 bedroom there were 14 beds.

It was the worst hostel ever, it was dirty, the staff were impolite and rude. They over charged us and we couldnt do anything about it, we were supposed to pay 11.90€ per night but we ended up paying 17.6€ !! The location was not good. Never again! If you want to book this hostel, trust me, you are going to regret it.

Staff is really good but some of the guys they don’t speak good English.

Hostel is dirty and in my dorm some ladies cooked Carry through evening so I couldn’t sleep well through my first night cause the smell was awful.

No toilet paper,dirty blankets full of hair.

Ok for 1 night stay. The bathrooms are extremely dirty and they won't let you use the stovein the kitchen :/

People working there where really helpful and fun. I want to thanks to the man in reception who take care of me when i feel sick and call me a doctor. We enjoy being there over all. Recommend this place

The worst hostel ever. The guy who received us wasn't friendly at all. Then in the girls room, a window was broken and couldn't close, my friend was sleeping underneath, when it rained her blankets were wet... We also had to pay supplements as the blankets and tourist tax (we were not aware of that! I don't recommend at all this hostel

Rooms are not big enough, stuff charge you a fee even before you get accommodated. Can't recommend this hostel.

Dirty beds and bathrooms.

No locks, sometimes no lights.

And for the second night our room was changed, we were not informed and all our stuff was in the reception.

Unfortunately I booked in my stress wrong, I didn't see that I booked a female room. So the guy made a expensive price for a shit room. The bed dangled a lot, it was only one folded sheet, so half to cover the bed and half for yourself. It was 0 C degrees and the room was not so warm to sleep with such a thin blanket.

But the worst thing was that they didn`t want to accept debit card. They said to me that the machine didn`t work today. So I asked if I can pay at night (They had already my creditcard number). They said it is not possible. So I asked if they tried to solve the problem. One guy said to me that I was very unpolite to ask it, because it was his problem, not mine. I said. If I can`t pay it is my problem to. But still I wanted not to pay cash and he said it was my problem. Finally they accept that I pay with the card because the machine miraculous worked again. They do that to not to pay taxes. If you pay cash, they don`t register it, so they don`t pay the city tax (2 Euro) that you already paid and probably the IVA tax too.

Perfect for one night

It was one of the worst hostel I have ever stayed. The staffs weren't respectful. The rooms were dirty and no hair dryer. We paied more money then what is written in the webside. The beds were very uncomfortable.

Hi! Hostel is Ok for 1 night, but not more. We stayed there 3 days. The hoast of the hostel is a very polite and good man, but other staff are very noisy, especially at night. Bathrooms are not so nice, one in our bathroom was no light.

Well... it was the worst hostel I've ever been to... and it's not that cheap as it seems (when you consider city tax, silly and untasty and not free breakfast, and 5 euros for keeping luggage...) There was no light in the bathroom... and it seemed the room was full not of travelers, but of refugees...

The location, okay. The staff still fine, but the lobby is like a bar, loud music and smoking, even the staffs do smoking there,not good specially in a small room and warm weather. Come on!

its a cheap pick in milan as you see the lowest price in the website. after you reach they will surprise you with city tax of 2 euros then "2.50 euros for every day" for bed n linen, which is not been mentioned anywhere in the website. so you pay 7.90+2+2.50 euros.

i am not saying its very bad/wrong because i am not the government but it feels little cheated for a traveller who works on budget as i travel.

Hostel is located in a good place, but unfortunately that's not enough. They had some problems with lost reservations. And the biggest problems- there was a mess. But to sum up, I have to admit that price is very low.

Staff charged me extra money without any reason, no cleaning of room on daily basis. Value for money will suggest to everyone if you are willing to walk extra.

They should give some basic information about the area and the city for the visitors that are arriving.

They could give the visitors some basic information about the neighbourhood and thec city.

Location, price, staff, kitchen were good.

Only I am not satisfied of the bed sheets, they charge u for about 2.5 euro per day, but they don't give u new sheet, the sheets are already in the beds and it is not clear it has been changed or not. And they don't give u clean sheet for pillow.

And it was a bit cold and they didn't turn on the heater.

Great for a night stay. Very small. A little over priced for what you get. They did have wifi. But when asked to be shown around they only showed me my bed. So I'm not sure if they even have a bar/ common area / kitchen...

They say to me, when I'm arrived, that they don't receive more bookings from hostelsclub.So the man say to me to go away in the evening,even if I yet payed reservation on Hostelsclub and it was difficult to me to find an other hostel.He did'nt permit to me to communicate with other guests what was happened,even if someone had understood what happened.

The staff is ok. but not considerate. i requested if possible to transfer from top to bottom bed, since nobody is occupying the bed. and they rejected my request. i thought maybe it will be occupied anytime. but until i left. the two bed were empty. i just thought that they will consider my request since the double deck has no ladder to climb up to the top and i'm not that tall.

The hostel is in very dangereous part of the city.It is not clean at all,and the people who work there not nice at all.J really hated the hostel.J planed for staying longer,but J stayed short,because it was terrible.

DO NOT choose this hotel! For some reason we had to arrive one day later and I've informed the hotel both through the E-mail and the telephone in advance. You know what, when we arrived the staff said that there was no room for us! He left us a choice that he would inform us in one hour if there was another room available, but we should still pay for two nights. It doesn't make any sense. And at the end he didn't call us. We did not even stay in this hotel, how can I rate?

The biggest complaint are the taxes and the sheets which you pay €2 each per person per day, and you don't know it until you get to the reception. It's a bit mean

This hostel is shit.. I booked from hostelsclub.com and two days later they sent me that they don't have enough rooms.. What a place is that!!!

I payed for a room with bathroom, and once a got there. There wasn't any available, so I had to shared a bathroom with other people.

The bathroom needs some improvement, in one of the bathrooms there was no toilet sit.

The worst hostel we were. It was expensive comparing they offer customer. You can find them 20 min from Milan Centrale train station by walk in north direction and far away to city centre. They take place in a insecure neighbourhood at night. The recepcionist were a unfriendly guy second time we were there, because they had shared rooms (we saw in this webpage) but he said us they do not have. Awful hostel.

It's a very good hostel.It's located close to centre and good transport to easy everywhere.It's nice and clean and a very helpful staff/receptionists.

Hotel service is very bad, they charged me more than they said the reservation, too bad I do not recommend.
