Keep out of this place, it looks like an circus of horror. Ignore the photos available, since now the hostel is in very bad conditions.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! The owner is really scary. The hostel was FILTHY! Difficult to get to and find. As a girl I would never stay there! It was really scary and uncomfortable. Horrible horrible horrible is all I can say!

poverina è arrivata qua al luna di notte un giorno in anticipo rispetto la sua reservazione che tra laltro credeva di averla fatta in feml room e qui si trovava di dover dividere la stanza coi maschi,alla fine non mi è rimasto altra scelta che assegnarla una stanza tutta per lei e consentirla anche uso del computer per poter trovare finalmente la sua sistemazione in un femal room,era orribile anche se non so cosa vuoldire scary.

Horrible!!!! No one speaks Italian or English, is an Irania family only man in all the hostel that allows you into their house. The owner even offered me to share a double bed with him.... I couldn't stay and had to look for something else... no name tag on the palace, no one at the reception and so on.... my worst hostel ever

This is an apartment and they are letting out bedrooms. the Bathrooms are filthy and they refused to cancel two nights as I cannot stay in this pigsty

la signora era scociata per diversi motivi,uno perche era non show per la prima prenotazione del 21 settembre e credeva di aver lo cancellata per poi prenotare per il 26 settembre.la seconda è che credeva di aver prenotata la stanza con il bagno privato,e dopo di aver capito gli sbagli.alla mia insaputa aveva scelto un bagno in corridoio,come il suo bagno privato,e quando vide che anche gli altri usano il suo è venuta da me ed ha chiesto la cancellazione dei giorni rimanenti,mi era impossibile,perche oltre ricevuta fiscale avevo anche reistrata la somma pagala per 4 giorni nel libro di incassi giornalieri.

A bit noisy but ok to stay. In fact, when back to hostel, so tired hence easy to get hence don't worry much.

1. it is difficult to find. There is no proper sign saying Hostel Portamaggiore.
2. it is very dirty.
3. No internet. Don't believe the website. The owner said you could use other person's wifi.
4. there is only one staff who is the owner
5. He slept/shared room with us. His daughter even slept with us.
6. There are 3 toilettes which are all broken, and do not have proper sanity.
7. I would not recommend this hostel to any of you.
8. kitchen and laundry service are very old. LIke from World War II

So first of all, don't stay here if you think this place is better than the review scores, it's not! Yea, its "in" the city, but thats about all it has going for it. Its also in a bad part of the city, so its not that great. Here's a quick rundown: terrible smell, unclean, no toilet seats, no wifi (one computer to share). Its just not worth the price at all.

It is very very small hostel actually it is not hostel it was a flat. Anyway i didnt expect too much comfort.

The owner is quite a sweet man, but it's a little weird that his 7 year old daughter lives there. She is undisciplined and will probably go through your things, though she is cute. It's comfortable, cheap and safe.

It's like a 4-bedroom apartment transformed in a small hostel. Nothing special but quite OK place. Good position.

The location is good, 15min walk from the Roma Termini; Tram service is also available just in front of the hostel; The owner is very nice guy who can speak in English, which is really rare in Rome; He is very friendly and helpful too; The hostel provide a map, which better than map of Roma Pass Map; The beds are clean; Bathroom is ok, but kitchen and cooking wares are not much clean; I recommend this hostel because of price and location;

Nasty place, nobody was there when I arrived, the phone was not being picked up and texts not answered. Eventually the owner arrived and the hostel turned out to be dirty, small and noisy. The owner was not interested in the guests at all. No good hostel atmosphere at all.

Place is really dirty. Bathrooms horrible. But there was no suprise. For this price in the center is a good deal. If You came for Rome -> it's good. If for staying enjoy -> find something else.

The owner is an amazing guy who will help you out if you ask. About a 15 min walk from Termini and about 20 min from the Colosseum. Good deal for budget travelers.

The location is perfect,it is about 15 minutes walking from the Roma termini and from the hostel you have buses and the tramway to get arround (I went to Colosseo on foot - 30min)and there is a supermarket in "via di porta maggiore" st. The staff was very helpfull, they provided me a map and I could left my bag there after the check out. The beds are good and really clean, the bathrooms are so-so and about the kitchen, the plates and cutlery are ok, but pans and cups were old and dirty. I recommend you this hostel mainly because of the price and location and I suggest you to bring your flip flops (take your shower wearing them) and your own cup.

Very nice staff - they let us leave our luggage for the whole 3 days (though we were there for 2 nights). The bathrooms maybe weren't in the best condition, but it's not such a big problem ;)

Excellent place! Everything is clean, bathrooms are renovated, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is very good, close to the city centre and metro station. Perfect place to stay at when in Rome!

We stayed there for 2 nights and we enjoyed our trip:) It's not the 3 star hotel, but it has everything we needed.We read previous comments about bathroom - i think they already did something with that, because now they were ok:) Also kitchen and room:) No luxus but enough to be happy:)

This is a fully ok hostel! The prize is good and breakfast is included which makes it very price worth.
The owner was really nice to us and helpful. He also offered us a free meal, which we considered a bonus!
The location is ok. Which the tramp it's just a few minutes away from the city centre, and for us it worked very well.

We enjoied the time in the Enjoy-Hostel. The Personal is friendly and helpful and the place is perfect (near Termini). We had a lot of fun with other travelers, who are from all countries. If you want to spend a nice time in rome, this is a cheap and beautiful place to stay. (-;

The staff was nice, and the position of the hotel is very good. Close to an underground station and many attractions. The only thing is that some things should be changed in the showers.
