Dirty, smelly and noisy. The photos must have been taken years ago. The cost was for 19euro they charged me 30. Terrible place!

Hi, I been there early morning. One beard guy was asking me 23.30 on total. I showed him your reservation copy. He said you booked with third party and whatever the third party does explain everything all the time. And he was a bit rude and complicated. I left the hostel at that moment. I did not stay at that hostel. You should not recommend to anybody a place like that.

This place is zero. The staff, the price and the cleaning. It was not possible to use the shower inside the room, there were spots on the room's walls, there was a lady who was more than 70 years old, there were bedbugs in the bed. A place to avoid!

Stayed here just one night,so all I can say is:

A) helpful and friendly staff

B) amazing position near Termini station

C) clean and polished rooms

D) 24h reception!

So I've been traveling Europe for 3 months now and this has been the worst hostel I've been to. They try to charge you for every little thing that normally you'd never get charged for, such as €3 for bed linens? Worst part was the Indian (I believe) female who was at the front desk. Treated me with tremendous disrespect. Terrible people skills and to make things worse, she tried to tell me, "why are you upset over paying for bed linens when you have an iPhone?" Really!?Absolutely terrible! No senses of professionalism whatsoever! I felt as if I was speaking to a child. Some of the other staff were great though. No wifi in rooms. No soap, shampoo, towels. Basically you have to pay extra for everything! Such a deceiving hostel trying to make a buck or two of people in deceiving ways. Don't go there. Many better options in Rome.

The M & J staffs are cool (especially the Italian-Spanish guy is super cool man!!) to deal with the situation. The hostel is close to the train station which makes easy to each early train, bus during rush hours. Despite low cost, the hostel doesn't have heating system in the room & the blankets provided are really thin during cold periods and a bit noisy due to sound of the moving vehicles. The breakfast recommended wasn't too bad !!!

Electronic keycard lock on our room door was broken and a constant issue for all who stayed in the room. VERY high turn over of backpackers, we stayed for 3 nights and often found the people who stayed in the room that night weren't always the same people in the morning...it was actually pretty weird. Wifi only works in reception. Cleaning staff were great - worked day and night it seemed - building is old, but it was clean. Reception staff less impressive..except the only female. She was honest about Rome and respectful, didn't feel treated like a gullible tourist - which we aren't. Pleased to leave.

We stayed in M&J Hostel for New Year's Eve in a 4-bed shared room with private bath. The room was very "minimal", but clean and nice. It faced the back courtyard so it was also quiet. M&J position is the best, especially if you are in Rome just for a short time. The staff is kind but not as "professional" as we experienced in other European hostels (We received an e-mail one day before our arrival with incorrect reservation data and we had to phone the hostel). Breakfast is not included and costs 2.5 Euros, but it's good.

Rude staff. Internet only works in the common room/lobby. Beds (at least in a 4 bed dorm) are terribly uncomfortable and while trying to climb the top bunk the whole bed structure makes a really annoying sound, possibly waking your roommates in awkward situations.

Great hostel! It's clean, the staff is very nice, and its location is PERFECT: a few steps from Termini train (+metro/bus) station (which leads straight to the airport (FCO)). Everything or so is within walking distance (except the Vatican). THE hostel in Roma!

Very nice place, reasonable prices, friendly staff & very close to the center of Rome. Cannot say anything about the parties 'cause I did not attend them. Breakfast quality was a bit suboptimal, but then again, it was very cheap. Overall, I was very happy with my stay.

It was the worst place that I slept in my last trip in Europe.

The rooms durties, without curtain in the shower. Always smelling bad.

Nobody show you the room, just give you the key and it is your problem to solve how to use the tv, the air conditionar, etc.

The WIFI ALWAYS was broken (in 4 days!). So, if you need to use the internet, you must to share two computer in the hall that always are bussy.

A lot of stair to go to the rooms....not god if you go with big luggage. You cannot use the elevator.

Finally, if you want to be more days in that place, you can´t book online, just can do it in the hall. When I did it, the owner gave me a different amount more expensive for one night more. If I would have more time to change that place I will did it, but I accept only because I wasn´t have time to look for a better place. Definitly, Not recommendable.

Allright, for its price M&J is quite a nice one. It's really well located (2min from the main station) and the staff is really really nice. Though here are some things you need to watch out for: it's pretty impossible to open your room's door with these extremely old chip cards they have - you literally need to try 100 times before it works! The kitchen is very small and poorly equipped. Bed matresses are covered with plastic in order not to get dirty - they make a terrible noise at night tho! You need to pay extra to use Wi-Fi, even for half an hour.

It's a nice place because it's near Termini train station and the receptionist were very polite(actually just two of them, the ones that are in the morning were not polite at all!).The things i didn't like were that u have to pay for the wifi,it's not free!as well as u have to pay for the breakfast...all in all, as regards price and position i'd recommend M&J.

Unfortunately, this well situated hostel is full of bed bugs...

Stuff is ok, happy to give you some advice or whatever. In accordance to the website, breakfasts should be included but in fact they are not. Anyway, for 3 euros you can have quite good and rich one.

The hostel is in a really great place and the staff are amazing! However, the awful beds, bathrooms that smell like pee and lack of air conditioning made it not so pleasant, what a shame condisering everything else the place has going for it.

ONE BAD THING about the bed...i got bite by bed bugs all over my body...i need to see a doctor and have medication because i had to many bites...

PLEASE chek up your bed and room because is very bad...

I told the guy at the front desk and he said it,s probably true because i was not the first person who have that at this hostel...

They don,t have any organisation for visiting Rome...

Only a free welcome drink at the bar...

It's too much no right??To compare to Barcelona they have everything included and for the same price!!!! Even cheaper!!!!! Location of your hostel is perfect!!! Hope something will change!!))) Take care!

The only good thing about this hostel is the location, and maybe the fact that it has a kitchen. Other than that, I found it to be overpriced, with extra charges for nearly everything, but I suppose that's standard for hostels in the middle of large cities. The people who work there are friendly, but perhaps at the cost of efficiency. The mixed bathroom was also awkward and fairly difficult to use.

Good place with a great location. Right next to the Termini bus and metro station. Tis a good launching point and base. They offer a cool breakfast deal that should be taken advantage of. 3 euro for the same thing you would pay at least 5-7 at any other place. Internet was a bit pricey but the staff was very friendly and good at their job.

cheers!

I don't think they changed their sheets inbetween guests. We were there 2 nights in a 10 bed room. The group with us the first night check out and the beds were left unmade-even for the next group checking in. I saw one of the workers come in a make only one of the bed (but not change the sheets!) Gross!!! Though you wouldn't know upon your arrival so be warned! But the front desk guy was really nice and friendly with good information and gave us delicious conolli(s).

There is really loud techno music some days coming from the bar downstairs. It could be heard on the 4th floor. We had to get earplugs in order to sleep. Other then that the hostel is ok - old, but clean. The breakfast is good and cheap and the people that work at the resturant/bar downstairs are really nice.

I would stay here again.
