The Hotel Restaurant La Pergola is situated in the southern part of Cilento which faces the Gulf of Policastro.
Situated above sea level 450 m. this typical cilentano village is set on a hill between the majestic grandeus of Bulgheria Mount above sea level 1225 m. and the crystal clear and uncontaminated Gulf of Policastro.
What characterizes this commune of the National Park of Cilento and Valley of Diano, including the hamlets of Scario and Bosco which has almost 4500 inabitants, is the beautiful historic centre. In fact, there is a labyrinth of little alley-ways and lanes that wind and intersect around the two ancient town squares: Piazza Teodoro Gaza (where you can find la Chiesa Madre dating back the years 400) and Piazza San Gaetano (which receives its name from its namsake).

Our two stars hotel is a short distance from Cenobio Basiliano. Another place to visit is the Shrine dedicated to the Madonna di Pietrasanta.
The Pianoro di Ciolandrea is a panoramic point where it is possible to admire the Campania Coast that meets mith the coast of Basilicata, Calabria until it reaches Sicily. Besides, from Ciolandrea it is always possible to enjoy the enchanting view of the coast of Scario that leads to the Porto Naturale of the Infreschi. (Ancient towers stand erect guarding the wild natural surroundings): coves, grottoes, gorges, beaches, flora and fauna, and everything uncontaminated and timeless.

It is impossible at this point not to mention Scario, which is the Pearl of the Commune. This ancient fishing village, arenowned tourist attraction, has retained all of its ancient traditions. What characterizes the beauty of this village is the splendid seaside unaltered in the course of the years. There is also the fantastic and wild beach of Masseta.

San Giovanni a Piro enjoys a strategic position among all the centres of the Gulf of Policastro. In fact while on one side it is a few minutes from the sea of Scario, on the other side it takes not more than 20 minutes to reach the splendid coasts of Marina di Camerota and Palinuro.

BY TRAIN:
- Get off at the railway station Sapri and used the service of Coach Curcio, whom you can reach all the countries of the Gulf of Policastro and get off at San. Giovanni a Piro.

BY CAR:
- From the Autostrada del Sole A-3 Sole Salerno / Reggio Calabria, exit Padula - Buonabitacolo or Lagonegro nord, turn left and follow the direction to Sapri / Policastro Bussentino along the highway Cilento (SS517 Var).
Once at the crossroads of Policastro Bussentino, turn right and follow the signs to Scario then follow the signs to San Giovanni a Piro where, upon arrival, you will find our hotel.
