Clean rooms, convenient location close to shops and restaurants but rather noisy all day long. Quite overpriced as well and services like breakfast are quite standard for the rate one has to pay.

This hotel has everything, great location, easy access, great staff, breakfast room and cleaning staff do an excellent job. The price is right for those on a long trip to Europe and very competitive, I would recommend to anyone travelling to Venice for the first time.

Beautifully adorned, close to railway and bus stations, croissant breakfast, loud street, yet metallic window lids help, and hot commercial director, what else one needs lol.

The hotel location is very convenient and walking distance to most of the Venezian attractions. Just a few steps away from the Santa Lucia train station. The room and the bathroom have a decent size. Everything on it was in proper order and clean. The receptionists were very attentive and kind when asked for suggestions and directions. The breakfast was also fair with a few good options to choose. it is certainly a nice place to be hosted and I strongely recommend it.

I have visited many hotels across entire Europe (also Italy). Maybe I shouldn't compare Il Moro di Venezia to typical middle-class "land" hotels, but if I do so, comparison will be devastating for Il Moro. The hotel is highly overpriced - 160 EUR per 2 pers per night for a room in a size of a bathroom. "Private bathroom" is a joke, you cannot stand straight without touching either toilet or the sink and shower is in a small enclosude (kind of "closet"). Breakfast is typically Italian, is you are used to large continental breakfast or English breakfast, you will not find anything for you. Breakfast room is too small for everyone wishing to eat. On the other hand, reception desk and breakfast staff is very kind and helpful.

Elevator did not work. No air conditioning. Owner, Roberto, and I had to negotiate the pricing. 7 rooms were booked.

We enjoyed our stay, but the loud music from the cafe below the hotel that continued until midnight every night spoiled it for us. The breakfast also is not great. The kitchen staff was not friendly at all, but the reception staff was very helpful and friendly.

The hotel is overpriced completely, for that price the offer should have been much much better! Bathroom a bit defective, elevator not working, breakfast too lean! Would never book it again!

We stayed here for 3 nights prior to a cruise after booking on Hostels.club.com. It didn't get off to the best start at our 2 pm check-in, an older lady who did not seem to understand English was at reception. She appeared confused and fumbled around looking for our name. She was quickly joined by another older man who also after fumbling around hesitantly told us that 'we tried to call you last night'. It was all starting to sound a bit ominous so I delved into our luggage to find our booking confirmation. Shortly after that another older gent appeared and thankfully he took control of the situation, quickly found our booking and ushered us up to our second floor room with private ensuite.

The room had two small windows and faced onto Lista di Spagna. The crowd wandering past and the trundling of suitcases was easily heard. The room had a dampish smell but we thought perhaps that is the norm in Venice. The room, was of a reasonable size but as expected for this price point was fairly austere. The floor was tiled, there was a small TV (no English channels) and a short rail for hanging clothes but no chairs. The bed had clean white linen, a warm doona, and reasonable pillows. The temperature of the room was very comfortable considering it was cold outside. The bathroom had basic but modern fittings and was clean to the eye.

We found out by chance that the Hotel offered breakfast in the morning, and it was actually included in our nightly rate! No one had bothered to tell us when we checked in. Luckily the smell of coffee and pastries in the stairwell prompted us to ask if breakfasts were available, and there it was, we were led to a small room serving coffee made to order, fruit juice, pastries and bread with conserves. There was a big TV on the wall showing the morning news (in Italian) and 2 small windows opening onto Lista di Spagna.

Unfortunately after we returned late afternoon on the first day it was evident that the drains in the bathroom were emitting a very nasty odor necessitating the bathroom door to be closed at all times. When we did venture in, the stench was pretty strong. I can not say for sure but both my husband and I developed sore throats and irritated sinuses while staying here and afterwards we wondered if it could possibly have being linked to the drain smell. We also had trouble with the water draining very slowly from the shower cubicle, with the water backing up till you were standing in a shallow puddle. (Probably not the best if the drains are not very healthy)

On the positive side, the staff were cheerful and friendly, especially the young man on reception who recommended places to eat. The room was cleaned daily by the same happy soul who made our coffee in the breakfast room. The Hotel is in a very convenient position and a short walk from the station. It is close to good restaurants like Povoledo which is across the road and towards the station a few meters, or cheap ( but tasty) takeout pizza just next door. At Gino's on the other side of the hotel we had one good meal and one not so good meal but would give it a 10 for ambience.
