A nice place for backpackers. The room could use a new painting, but it wasn't dirty or so, the restaurant was nice, the staff was helpful.

Worst hostel I've ever stayed in. Worst location ever and staff member (receptionist man) was disgracefully rude! We were interrailing & have stayed in many budget hostels so we could deal with minimal luxury however the rudeness we received from a receptionist when we asked him to book a taxi to a bar, our room did not lock and was extremely rude when we asked to fix it as we did not feel safe as our room was not located in the hotel but out the back In a worn out building with the windows smashed and doors that would not lock. 3 young girls hardly felt safe there!!! Also the wifi in the rooms didn't work, advertises wifi however only works in the main reception area. Whatever the point in that is I don't know.

Wouldn't even stay here again if it was paid for me!

This is a cheap stopover and convenient for the city centre. Accommodation is basic, however, so the recommendation comes with a caveat - don't expect too much!

We booked a room for 3 people. We stayed in the hostle behind the hotel. The room has no air conditioning so we had to leave the window open because the fan in the room didn't do much. We were eaten alive by mosquitos. Beds were awful. They charge a seating fee at the hotel restaurant. Food was only ok. Waitress lied to me saying I couldn't drink tap water in order to try to sell me water. Wifi was slow. Overall I wouldn't stay again. It is very easy to get to Venice so I'd look elsewhere.

For the price it was fine, the only issue was that my room was packed with mosquitos so I was eaten alive.

Nice hostel in Mestre i could recommend for that price. Rooms are not very modern, but its okey for 1-2 day stay. You can get to Venice by bus, and it takes about 10-15 minutes.
anonymous, Spain - Jul 14, 2017

It was ok. The only thing was that I shared a 2 beds room with a person I didn't know and there was just one key for both of us. The room was in a different building, although not far to the main building, but it was a bit annoying having to go from one building to the other trying to find the key or the guy I was sharing room with.

The other issue was that they had just one bathroom shared between 6 rooms, so many times you had to wait a long time before you could use it.

The bus is just 1 minute walking (number 5 or 19) and it took 15 minutes to get to Venice. The price was 1,50€ (3€ return).

I won't recommend this place to anyone because the condition of the hotel room is really bad due to mosquitoes and absence if any ventilation. The rooms are very small and suffocating. There were a lot of mosquitoes and I had a terrible night.
The owner's reply
Madam,

it seems you have not noticed the room you were given had

- a fan

- a window

- a mosquito killer.

Then, "the absence of any ventilation" can only be achieved on perverse purpose, much like not plugging the mosquito killer in Venice.

The room was a twin bedded one, which is what you booked; bigger rooms with more beds are available.

Hotel Primavera is very guest-friendly and low-profile hospitality establishment. Hotel service staff are very polite and efficient, rooms are cleaned every day, food in the restaurant is excellent and not over-priced. I really enjoyed staying in Hotel Primavera/ I highly recommend this hotel for every traveler who wants to visit Venice.

Overall offers good value for the price even for the cheaper alternatives. The lack of WiFi in shared rooms is really the only negative thing for shorter stay.

Caution, this review is about the hostel, not the hotel building(near the highway). I bet hotel section is much better than the hostel part. So... For my first night stay, I got a double room only for myself. However it was very cold, so I was already having trouble before the sun went down. I asked the front desk staff and they gave me a heater so I was relieved and went to shower, but all the lights went off when I was inside the shower. It is in the camping sight, so you can maybe imagine how scary it was for me to have no lights suddenly at all. I had no phone or nothing to light up anything, so I walked out of the shower room by touching the wall, and I went to the front desk with wet cloth I grabbed from the floor with my hairs all wet. They fixed the problem but I had to wait outside feeling very cold while they were fixing it. Then when I got inside my room this happened again. (I bet it's because the heater was taking too much electricity) And I did the same thing again. ( going to the main building asking for help, all wet) I was very much scared as I heard no one staying in that building but only myself at that time. After the second black out, they took out the heater saying that it was the reason of light going off, they said they would turn on the air conditioning.. but I thought to myself it wouldn't be possible since it was already the end of April. But they said it was no problem, and I trusted and waited. I waited until morning to find my cold white breath, because the room was extremely cold and I could never sleep all night long. It was so, so cold that I thought my finger toes would freeze... The next morning, I used my hair dryer to warm myself and also my cloth, feeling sick. Also expect that there are bugs since it is in the camping sights. It was normal for me to see two stink bugs in my small room, but when they changed my room next day for my request, I saw hundreds of ants taking over the shower room/toilet. Literally, ants everywhere. Yes, they don't kill us, but yet it was extremely uncomfortable as a girl myself. Also I bet it was pigeons or some kind of animals... such as mouse? I don't know, but they are running around on the roof so you find yourself creeped out every time that happens throughout your stay. And in the morning you wake up to the sound of birds... It is amazing if I wake up fine, but at 5 am feeling sick and cold, it didn't sound nice at all but rather annoying. But again, I'm not sure to blame this because it is a camping site. If you are totally fine with bugs, or any kinds of animal, go for it. I think as a price wise it is really worth it. Also I was NOT asked to be roomed with a guy in the same room on my second day. I bet he (30 -40 yrs old) was also surprised to find a girl sleeping next to him the next morning, too. (our beds were not connected together!) He was already gone when I woke up but he didn't close any doors... :( One door for my own room, and another for the particular section of the building. ) But this time too, I am not sure to blame this because my room was double, therefore I should have been expecting a new comer, whether if it is he or she.

The staff was VERY NICE and did a lot to help me, and I really appreciate. They were so kind. However, it was not being good help :( I was very sad that I spend few days in Venice being sick and feeling terrible because of the air conditioning. I hope the staff at the hotel understands my opinion, and not get offended.

Maybe the cleanliness issues mentioned in the other reviews existed back when the reviews were made, but there definitely aren't any problems now. I stayed one night in a room with a private bathroom, and another night in a dorm room with a shared bathroom, and both were really clean. Also, I was on the second floor, and the wifi reached our room fine. I would definitely recommend it, since it's ridiculously cheap for how close it is to Venice. The restaurant had good pizza, but the pasta and lasagna weren't that great, and were small portion sizes for how expensive they were. There aren't any other restaurants nearby, and they only make pizzas at night, so try to get lunch before you arrive.

Our room smelled gross, rude staff, hair all over the sink in our room, holes in the walls, wifi doesn't reach the hotel room, not enough outlets. only good thing was it was cheap and not too bad of a bus ride.

Was good. Staff are very kind with me, helping when i lost my wallet (someone found in Venice and contact me to give back) Breakfast is 5 euros, not 4 as say on site. Internet only in reception. Only 1 toillet with shower for all shared roons. The roon is outside of main build. Its outside of site, but less than 10 mim by bus. Have one good supermarketing close hotel.

The hotel was only a 10 minute bus ride to the island of Venice, so the convenience factor was awesome. Upon arrival my room was absolutely freezing and the radiator wasn't turned on, even after waiting 2 hours it was still an icebox in our room. Thankfully the receptionist fixed the problem and it was somewhat bearable, but I still slept fully clothed and with 3 wool blankets on.

Also if you book the cheaper rooms there is no wifi and you have to walk out behind the actually hotel building, you get what you pay for and for I would choose this again if I came back to Venice just because of the location and price.

Except that it's not in the historical center of the city, everything else was nice: the staff were polite (they even addressed me with "sir" all the time :) ), the room and the bathroom were clean, and even the restaurant on the ground floor was value for money as well! So, I definitely recommend the hostel as a budget option to stay in Venice!

[well, why not feeling "Sir" on budget hotels too?]

AWFUL AND DIRTY ROOM FULL OF OLD FURNITURE AND COBWEBS + SPIDERS AND BUGS!

The room was damp and smelly, wi-fi and tv did not work.

It was dark and in the middle of nowhere. Noise from the highway and creepy staff.

Does not worth its price at all - you have to pay additional tax 1.4 e per night and for the bus 3-4 e per day to get to Venice or the train station.

The owner's reply
Good evening,

we have 8 buses a hour to Venice during the day; by night, all night long, buses run twice an hour. The trip is 9 minutes, the ticket is 1,50 €; not bad, we hope, for being in the middle of nowhere. Buses are to be payed, like any public transport, so are city taxes: you can bet it is the same elsewhere.

WiFi is available in common areas, for free, and TV does work: sorrily, italian channels, italian language, italian taste for bad tv.

My name is Hanan Babiker, I booked Hotel Primavera I have been, My experienced this hotel no internet in the room, not security, the reception outside I had walk in back of hotel separate no water I can drink no telephone working if something happen to me

The owner's reply
Good evening,

the reception is in the main building, 40 m from dorm rooms, and it is open 24/7: the dorm building is in a fenced area, next to hotel garden/parking. In order to phone from the device in the room, just ask for the line at the reception; if you want to speak to the reception, just dial "9". Drinkable water is available at the bar, which is always open, or, for free, from the tap inside all rooms!

Ask, please, and we will explain. Have no fear if you do not speak perfect english, we do not speak it perfectly either ;-)

Far from city center. Very quiet area and dark. Cleaner took my own towel without notice and then staff kept saying that they did not know. It seems like they are not responsible. And in general, the staff is not friendly. No supermarket around. No kitchen. No hot water in the first night. No wifi in the room, just in the reception; and you need to walk a bit to the main building.

There is a good place - not far from Venezia. But Wi-fi was omly periodically, in the morning there was not wi-fi at all. The old furniture, no lift. So it is better to live in the main building, because in the building on the back there is no conditioner - but the buthroom is more convenient. The restourant is good, personal is good.

In the room 406 there was conditioner, so guests were bitten by the mosquioes. The room was placed not in the same building were the dining room is. The lifts are absent in a hotel and for the pedestrian cross.

The furniture in the rooms is very old and unpleasant. There is no lift to reach 4 floor. The water is collected on the floor in the bathroom. It is very inconveniently to reach a hotel from the bus stop - you must go with a luggage high upstairs to cross the road on pedesrian crossing, and lift of this construction is broken. But the hotel is very close to Venezia and personal is friendly.

I booked a clean 3beds room but I got a 2 beds room which has nothing to do with the photos they showed on the net. It's at the backyard, so small, barely put in two beds. When I entered in this room, it smells very bad, like some old place we've never opend for centuries.( when I checked in, I saw a lot of other rooms available). The bed is so small and so soft, not comfortable at all! When you move, it makes noise. The bathroom is so basic, of course very tiny! You don't even want to step in! All the furnitures they have are so old and looked not very clean! This is the first time and last item I step in this hotel!!
The owner's reply
Good evening,

you actually booked 1 bed in a 3-bedded dorm: so you shared a room with less people. The room has been painted 2 weeks before your arrival, hence the smell you probably noticed. As explained in the rooms description, and as you can see from their pictures, dorms are basic: other photos pertaining other rooms describe accommodation in the main building. We are sorry you did not enjoyed your staying.

This is an amazing hotel, staff who works at hotel are so nice and gentle. They make an effort trying to help you in many languages: spanish, italian, english.

Very nice place to rest near of Venezia (10 minutes from Venezia). Very easy to get there, and very near of Venezia, around 10 minutes in the bus. The bus stop is really in front of the street view (1 minute walking). Very good breakfast (buffet), clean, warm, very quiet, warm water, have internet. People from Italy never yell at you.

If i had the chance to be again in Venezia i would like to rest in the same Hotel Primavera.

Best regards

We had a great time there. The young girl in the reception was very nice with us, she gave us the information that we needed. The bedroom was clean and the bathroom too. Th breakfast was ok too, the only problem that we had was to find the place the first day, it was dark and we were confused, but the second time was easy, it's close to Venice.

It's a okay hotel considering the 10 minutes by bus promixity do the city center. The breakfast is very good with fresh bread, ham and cheese all the coffee types, juices, jam and so on and even if it's until 9h30, they let you stay a bit longer and to finish whatever you want. You can borrow the hair dryer for free in the reception as well and they do your bed during the day! When i went they didn't had enough city maps so i had to pay for one in the city centre and you just have wi-fi on the reception and corridor which sucks. Overall, it's a good hotel, alghough a bit old but i would recommend it! oh and you can buy the bus tickets (100m stop walking) in the reception and they give you a paper with the timelines and all the necessary info you need. and the rooms have a handwasher inside with a mirror!
