You can either fly or catch bus from Kota Kinabalu, Air Asia and Malaysian Airlines offers multiple flights daily to Tawau, where you’re just 1 hour (99km) drive away from Semporna

If you’re on the backpackers circuit (did you climb the Mount Kinabalu?), buses leave daily for Semporna at 7.30am / 7.30pm from the Kota Kinabalu Bus Terminal (Inanam Terminal). It takes about 7 – 8 hours to reach Semporna by bus and cost approximately MYR 50.00 – MYR 65.00 (Includes Packed Lunch)
