Quintal de Além do Ribeiro

Description

It was with the purpose of restoring and preserving this valuable family heritage that the owners of Quintal de Além do Ribeiro decided to open it to the public as a guesthouse.

The restauration of the house followed a detailed survey of its specific building features, strictly respecting the rustic structure commonly found in the Beira's region as well as its exterior settings.

The local materials originally used for the construction of the house were the large size quartzite peebles extracted from the Ceira river and schist, joined together with a mixture of clay.

Following the region's building traditions, the ceiling of the ground floor is supported by chestnut beams and as guests walk on the first floor the wood gently cracks, giving them a glimpse into past times.

This rusticity is however perfectly compatible with the comfort of modern life.

The rooms are extremely welcoming and comfortable, are well insulated and have central heating.

All rooms have a different designation obeying to a specific theme (profession or activity) and are decorated accordingly.

The decor of the house recalls village life: from the farm implements and tools used of old in agricultural work to the 40's and 50's radios decorating the rooms, still in perfect working condition...

Outside, the house's seven main doors are decorated with turtle shape door knockers, which originally belonged to a Lisbon palace house.

The house has many more interesting objects to discover nevertheless. However, one of the most stricking features of the Quintal de Além do Ribeiro is ... the quintal itself. The outside, with its well tended gardens, trees and flower pots, is dominated by a lawn and a swimming pool inviting its guests for a swim or just for a relaxing time.

The Quintal offers its guests open spaces for their enjoyment but also spaces which provide more privacy.

 

 

Terms and conditions

The client is responsible for the bank transfer/deposit in order to guarantee the final reservation, within 72 hours (3 working days) prior to confirmation in writing.

It is absolutely necessary for the client to send to Quintal de Além do Ribeiro (by phone, e-mail or fax) the confirmation of the full amount paid, the type of payment used, the date and the name of the person who carried out the payment.
