URBAN TRANSPORTS

Coimbra has very good transportation services inside the town, with daily tickets for tourists.
It also has the Fun(tastic), a panoramic bus which goes along the main tourist sites. The trip lasts for about an hour, with recorded information in Portuguese, English, German, French, Italian and Spanish. The ticket is valid for the whole day, which allows passengers to get off and on in the different stops. The same tickets are also valid for the day in the public bus service of City Hall (SMTUC). This activity only takes place during spring and summer.
The “Pantufinhas”, electrical transport system in the historical centre of Coimbra, goes along the medieval site of the town. It stops whenever needed and you can travel in it with the same ticket of the regular bus service.

ON FOOT

The main historical sites can be reached on foot, leaving from the train station Coimbra (A). However the upper part of the town is a bit difficult to reach on foot.
Downtown there is a vast area of shopping reserved for walkers.
