Dear administrators of HOSTELSCLUB.COM, I do wonder how you have this place in your list of hostels! You should check what you offer! I cannot imagine how an AWFUL, DIRTY, SMELLY AND MISERABLE PLACE like this can exist in 21-st century! I am just speechless about it! As a regular client of your site I do recommend to you to just delete this place from your list and never in future desinform people about it. My rating is a mere zero, but you don not have such a percent. It was money paid absolutely in vain for a stay in this otherwise marvelous city of Lisbon. I do believe that you will consider my opinion! Have my very best regards!

location is great. Of course when you are in the middle of the city there will be noise which did not bother me.

We stayed four nights at this hostel. We were lucky to have a shower and a basin in our room. We only had to share the toilette. The location was really good - in the center of Lisbon. But at night it gets louder because of the many Restaurants directly in front of the hostel. The next metro station was only two minutes away. Unfortunately there is no elevator. The owner lives also at the hostel and uses the same bathroom/Toilette.

When we arrived, the hostel was closed and there was no one in sight. After roaming around town with our luggage, we had the help of an elderly man who told us that the hostel is not open and is under construction. He called and was able to have someone from the hostel meet us and guide us to other accomodation near by. It was a bit disappointing but at least we had somewhere to stay.

It is a very nice place, in the city centre it is very well located, it is clean and nice. The only thing is that it is quiet, if you want to party it is not the place where you should go, because it is small, is only has 5 or 6 rooms and no common area.

It is a very old place which is actually nice, but the walls are very thin so that you always hear your neighbours which is horrible when you have snorring neighbours all the time, skyping at night or whatever...

It's a very cheap place, well located in the city, good if you just want a bed. However, it's noisy and one room doesn't have windows. The staff is nice.

Lafonense Pension is a nice hostel very well-placed in Lisbon. The staff is friendly, the room and bathroom was clean. It was quite noisy at some times but we were looking for a cheap and nice place to stay for two nights, and this hostel was a good choice.

The hostel is an old apartment right in the hearth of Lisbon. It is clean and the staff is really nice. It is a good place if what you need is a place to sleep, but there is any fun or posibility of interactions among travelers. Very cheap though.

It's really ok if you think on where you are ( in the very city-center! ) and how much does it cost!! About the rooms, it depends on what you get: with shower but without window, with window but noisy and without shower, anyway to just sleep there it is perfect! And the owner...well, she is really so nice! to be suggested if you're looking for something cheap just to sleep, not if you are looking for a real big hostel with many rooms, visitors, breakfast and other facilities. Situated in an old flat, but a little bit re-newed ( anyway clear! ).

Super location, just in the center, on the only-pedestrian street full of cafes. yest it's quite loud during night, but you can feel the spirit of the city! small but clean rooms, lovely owner. Recomend if lookin' for sth. cheep but nice, and not expect Hilton's standard :)

Very average and bare bone Hostel...just a room..no TV..no wifi..old towels and furniture..shared bathroom..the lady was asking I believe 1 euro/hr for wifi usage...place is very old and shady...if you just need a place to sleep, go for it..otherwise, shop around, you should find much better deals...the location though is right at the heart of Lisbon, near Rossio Square...we stayed for 2 nights & our room was not cleaned & on the 2nd day, we came back after last shopping only to find out that our room was opened without our knowledge...the lady told us she wanted to show it to some tourists since we'll be checking out soon...we found that very unpleasant & an invasion of our privacy..how could you possibly open someone's room without asking for permission first?

Hostel Lafonese gave a feeling of quite low standard - but clean, we got a room with a bed a sink and a small balconny, try to fit these things in the smallest possible area and you get the picture. it is right in the centre... but we were longing for the beach.

Lafonense is located in very busy pedestrianised street, ie. noise and laughter until last customers leave cafés, restaurants. Fine if you are night owl and like eating, drinking amenities close-by.

Should I ever visit Lisbon again, this is the first place I'll try to book. The stuff and location couldn't be any better. Public transport (train, metro and buses that would take you anywhere) just 2 minutes away. As for the fun factor, one should not expect partying, the rule is silent hours after 22:00 (though the street below is very lively until after midnight even during the week), yet very nice having a bottle of wine on the small balcony, low-key voicing, which is all I wanted anyway. Overall a very nice place to stay, nothing fancy but cozy, clean and welcoming.

I stayed at the pensao lafonense for a week with my 6-years old boy. We had a nice room facing the street, wich was not too noisy (feb). The staff Geny and Joannis is very likable and helpfull. The Pensao is situated in an old apartment with a few rooms (5-6) and it is close to everything in the center. Perfectly situated! Thanks from Eva.

The pension had a great location, right downtown centered around the three main plazas of Lisboa. The rooms were simple and the bathrooms clean. However, the rooms were dark, and felt like upkeeping would be of help. The owner of the pension was helpful, spoke english, portguese, french, and german. He gave us a map and explained the situation of Lisboa as well as was useful in answering any of our questions.
