The hostel is very easy to find .In the night is quiet and you can relax. I did not like that to get in you have to call the bell on the street and wait patiently to open. However, I recommend the hostel to everyone who's looking for a cheap, clean and pleasant place to visit Barcelona.

While in Barcelona, I had to stay at the Hostel by myself as my friends were scattered between two other hostels, and I felt perfectly safe. And compared to the other hostels my friends were staying at, this one was by far the cleanest and safest.

Since I had my own room, it was always locked, I could leave my things in there with nothing to worry about. And I only paid like 32 euros for my own room, which my friends paid a little less than that and they had to share a room with other people. I think i definitely got the better end of the deal.

In terms of fun, it was fairly quiet which is why I rated the fun lower, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, I think everyone was just out enjoying Barcelona.

noisy at night but If you are looking for party time you won't mind! The staff is helpful and polite, room' size is ok and clean. Too bad there is no elevator because the hostal is in the 3rd floor but ask for help and the staff will help you.

Good location!

The location of the hotel is fantastic and very near to the column plaze and also to the beach. I suppose that the heating system seems old but maybe we do not need them quite much even during the winter days here, because usually in Barcelona here, we have wonderful sunshine and nice warm weather.

One has to notice the difference of No smoking and smoking region.No smoking region is clean,but the other one is full of fried smell from someone' kitchen and high humidity which is the hotbed of annoying things.but anyway, the stuff is kindly and positon is good where is near the turistic busstop and subway.

It is very good place to rest in a quite atmosphere, and during my stay there every thing was good.

I didn't know how to rate the cleanliness factor. so I left it at half way. The reason being, that although the place was well maintained...no visible dirt or grime, I got eaten alive with bed bugs. They gave me another room, but I was still covered in big welts. They didn't compensate me in any way at all. they were very pleasant people, but this kind of ruined my vacation. I left my luggage behind, and now I need new stuff. The least they could have done was given me a free night or two!!!

Very clean and surprisingly well equipped pension, five minutes from the harbor and Barri Gotic. House is old, so sometimes noisy at night and the rooms in the back are to be favoured.

If you don´t plan spending too much time inside and use it just for a place to crash after a hard day of visiting the city it´s just right. The position is great ! 5 min walk from ´La Rambla´.

A good hostel according to my opinion. Cheap, 25 euros a night during later part of april. The staff wore nice and the reception was manned 24/7. It's situated in the nice gothic quarters close to the harbour and is a great plave to start of a tour of Barcelona. Ain't enough cash for a hotel? This is a good option!

It's fine for 1-2 nights

I enjoyed 2 nights there..i was very pleased. Very clean room..perfect location near La Rambla and Port Vell.Staff was very friendly but they could speak more english. Anyway 9,5/10

Room was small and basic. Located at 3rd-4th floor without lifts! No breakfast provided. Location was excellent though.

this hostel is very clean, very near to the city centrum, and has 1 or 2 person rooms, and thats everything they have. if you are looking for a hostel with clean sheets, and you are not gonna be in the hostel during the day, its the perfect place.

attention: many rooms dont have a window looking to the sun or sky, so it may be difficult for those who need sunshine to wake up

The position of this hostal was good La Rambla street starting from that end and the port, aquarium, Imax and Metro nearby.

great hostel for the price, considering its position. it would be better if there was shampoo in the bath.

I stayed in Hostel Portugal for 2 nights.i cant say anything bad about this place.My room was clean and provided with tv and towels.Hostel is well situated.

Close to Metro and the Colon Circle end of the Rambla. The usual Day desk clerk is great and speaks English well. The usual night guy looks like the kind of person I would normally cross the street to avoid. He's not very pleasant, but I've had no problems with him. It has NO WIFI at this time, but a computer in the hall you can use. It what Americans would consider the THIRD floor, and a walk up. A fruit smoothie place 2 doors down has WiFi and a cheap continental breakfast.

the hostel has great location close to all important places (rambla, port, gothic quarter). the staff are really nice though some of them don't speak english very well- but that wasn't a problem.

the room is minimal and was perfect for us.

Excellent location very close to seafront, friendly staff, although they do not speak much English. Our 3-bed room was basic, but clean and not cramped.

The location of the hostel is just great.There are all necessary kinds of shops around it(on the same street)-supermarket,bakery,pharmacy,restourants.It's very close to the beginning of La Rambla Street, the statue of Colom, and the port.The conditions inside are more than enough for tourists who plan to spend there time walking in Barcelona during the day and just sleeping in the hostel for the nights.I highly recommend this hostel and wish a great time in Barcelona to everyone who has chosen it!

great location, clean hostel, internet available, good choice!

The hostel is situated in very good place - Near Rembla Street and it is definetly the strongest advantage of this Hostel. Second, highly rated, featuer is cleanlines. Rooms are cleaned very carefully and towells are changed every day. hostel staff is very helpfull but sometimes it is hard to communicate because not all of them know english (but in generall they try to help you as they can). The most important disadvantage is lack of sun light in rooms. There are windows in rooms but they have to be closed and minority of them have sights on street.

This nice and quiet place in the very centre of Barcelona was just what we needed for a weekend stay.

The place is in the middle of the living Barcelona. It's close to everywhere, the room was very clean, I had no problems at all. I recommend this hostel

When travelling with heavy luggage, than 7 stairs is a long way up. The night porter could lower the folume of his television with is located next to room 204 and construction work in the hotel gave a lot of noise in the morning.

It was very nice accomodation in the centre of Barcelona and every tourist point was near us so we didn´t have to use subway.

The staff could speak more english.

people were very nice and speak a little English, but the room wasn;t nice at all (old, ugly and smelly). That is why I won't come there anymore. Petty, becauce localization was perfect for me!

Quite including a good package of commodities. I recommand the hostel more for the person who are seeking for a quietness staying in Barcelona!

Dungeon- like room, without direct light smelling of sewerwaste.Ill tempered receptionist. Barred window and no emergencylightning. Potential deathtrap.Never again.

A very affordable hostel with a good location near the marina. Very clean in the rooms and good service with very friendly personal!

Perfect location, right in the city center and close to the metro station. Many restaurants nearby and a small shop just opposite the street. The house is quite old but ok. I would recommend this hostel!

This is a great location in Barcelona on a quiet street a block from La Rambla and the statue of Columbus. The staff was very helpful and kind and let me practice my Spanish. I don't look for "Fun" in an accomodation and the Atmosphere was plain and simple, which is fine since I use the room to sleep and go out most of the time. The beds are a bit lumpy and could use some kind of "pillowtop" but I slept well anyway.
