Directions (how to arrive at the hostel):

WE DO RECOMMEND USING OUR AIRPORT PICKUP, ESPECIALLY FOR TRAVELLERS COMING TO DAR ES SALAAM FOR THE FIRST TIME. WE DO NOT ONLY WANT YOU TO BE COMFORTABLE BUT ALSO GET YOU SAFELY TO OUR PREMISES. (PUBLIC TRANSPORT IS COMPLICATED AND UNRELIABLE!)

Travellers who are experienced in the city can use public transport with the following directions (we are on google maps as well):

Coming from Julius Nyerere International Airport: take a bajaj to Mlimani city and then another one to Makongo Juu. Do not pay more than 1000 TSH per person for the bajaj from Mlimani to Makongo!

We do recommend taking our offered airport pickup though, because traveling in public transport with your luggage can not only be exhausting in Dar es Salaam but also impossible at times.

Coming from the Zanzibar Ferry terminal: take a daladala in the direction to Makumbusho and from there a daladala to Makongo Juu
Another possibility is to take a bajaj to Mwenge/Mlimani City and take a bajaj from there to Makongo Juu.

Coming from Ubungo bus terminal: take a daladala to Makumbusho, get out at Mlimani City and take a bajaj to Makongo Juu

Once you have reached Makongo Juu, you can either walk or take a BodaBoda to Teddy's home hostel.
