Transit Motel Ukonga *

Upon arrival, the reception clerk tried to rip us off by telling that suddenly the tarif jumped up to 50,00 $ per night ( instead of 40,00 € as from an Internet booking). Of course, we refused.

No change available for a bottle of water ( 2$ value on a banknote of 5$). Too bad !

A very simple hotel, close to the airport. It is recommended for people either with early conection or late arrival.

Definitely a great place to stay for Transit travellers. Clean, quiet rooms and not expensive.

Fantastic location, especially if you have an early flight to catch, staff were very accommodating and friendly.

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Facilities are basic but there was a comfortable double bed and air conditioning. It's located close to the airport but in a fairly unattractive and crowded area. The trip into Dar is both far and expensive so the motel is not convenient for any sight-seeing. But as a place to park yourself between flights, it's good value for money (at least where DSM is concerned).

Just fine to spend the night nearby airport without having to drive to Dar es Salaam city center

I enjoyed my stay in Transit Hotel Ukonga. I arrived at 22.30 and they cooked a meal for us even though they were closing and it was nice that it was so cheap and tasted good. I found the room to be clean and well furnished for the price inc was worth it near the airport. recommended

The close proximity to the airport is excellent. The bathroom/shower was a little dirty mostly the floor and around the toilet. The value compared to other similar hotels is OK, but not great. For other NGO and mission's personnel, I would definitely recommend this hotel. For expats and tourists, I would not recommend this hotel because it does not measure up to international standards.

Very good value option to stay before our 4.35 a.m. flight from the nearby airport. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, mosquito net was good, shower worked! Had a beer and some food in the cafe before catching several hours sleep. Taxi was arranged for us and arrived on time for our transfer to the airport. We'd stay there again if transiting through Dar airport.

Short distanse from airport is most important.Staff trying to do their best.

We arrived at the hotel that we booked and didn't have a room we were sent to the other hotel and one of us had to sleep on the floor and we were charged a higher price than the booking. I was planning to stay with you again but not now

Reception staff were unhelpful and unfriendly. No breakfast available before 0600. Restaurant food just ok.

Poor service, receptionist asleep on floor, tiny beds, smaller sheets, no breakfast, nor recommended unless you are desparate.

Very close to the airport (5min), so very interesting if you arrive in or leave from dar es salaam to zanzibar or whatever other destination.

Only thing I missed was hot water. Great location for airport, very nice staff and great value for money.

It does not even reach 10. I give it a ZERO.

There was supposed to be a driver waiting for us at the airport to take us to the hotel.

We had to make alternative arrangements and PAY AGAIN for another hotel.

The least you can do is refund the money.

Only thing that I can complain, is that in the restaurant we waited over 1 and half hour our foods. Luckily the food was ok and there was a lot to eat.

Full points!Travelling alone,the first time on African continent, happy to see my name on a scrap, taken to the motel late, and back early morning, after a good sleep in a clean accommodation!

The Transit Motel was ok. Unfortunately the Taxi driver they gave us, drove us to a booking office where they tried to cheat us, and even helped them instead of us.

The hotel is simple but considering that it is Africa,the low price and the location close to the airport makes it a pretty good value. The staff was really friendly and they helped me with every question I had. For one night a good choice!

The room was very clean and comfortable. However there was no hot water for our showers.

A good place to stay if in transit at Dar Es Salaam for a night. Close to the airport. Some nearby establishments kept music, singing or chanting going later, but they did quieten down at some stage. I would consider staying there again.

Unfortunatelly there was only one room for us (5 persons) although I had a reservation for 2 rooms. The staff at reception desk didn't help us and couldn't solve the problem. There was no light in the bathroom, so I can't tell if the cleanliness was satisfied. I don't recommend this motel.

This was a wonderful experience and Rachel, who I contacted repeatedly by email, for information at different times, was extremely helpful and kind. I will definitely use this hotel the next time I'm in Dar.

Good enough to spent a few hours between two flights. Our transfer didn't show up at the airport.

some things didnt work, but shower did, a/c did, bed was fine, just all ok for short nite stay, and position so close to airport for early departure

No atmosphere and really really basic. No hot water, no wifi but did have clean sheets and is 5 mins car ride to airport

there is no WLAN, otherwise a nice place to stay if you have to wait for a flight.

The hotel is quite far from the airport (10 min by taxi) in not a very nice area. Loud party music from a bar next door until early morning. Room clean, aircon not cold, furnishings shabby, no credit cards. OK but not nice.

This place does what it is supposed to do being a reasonable place to sleep, eat and get something to drink but it is not really a place that you will remember for long.

When we arrived the person working the desk had a lot of trouble with figuring out which rooms were ours. We had made a change a few days earlier, and they could not figure it out. In the end, they did, but after flying for 2 days to get there, it would be nice not to have to deal with such issues.

The hotel is very close to the airport. The email contact and the front desk person were both very helpful and friendly. The hotel arranged for my airport transfer ($5 USD) and kept my luggage for me for a week. There was noise in the night as people came and went. The bed was a bit saggy. Breakfast was basic but good enough.

Very conventiently situated about 5 minutes from the airport, perfect if you are to catch an early flight. Although situated on a busy road, the hotel is quiet.

Be more focused on clients needs like good food and not raw hamburgers for example, be more friendly and be more hospitable.
