Description
Built in the Eclectic Architectural style by Şekip Nakip in 1920s.
The Liwan Hotel is one of the best examples of the structures of this kind. In the structure designed with lanai, stone vaults and arches were used.
The first dwellers of the residence were the first President of Syria, Suphi Bereket, and his family. This beautiful and noble work of art of Antakya has also been used as a “French Residence” and “Treasurer’s Department”.
The restoration of the building purchased by Tevfik and Hüseyin Pehlivan Brothers was started in 2005 and carried
out without any change in its historical texture and was introduced as a hotel to the tourism of
Antakya in October, 2008.
