Very good located near from all beautiful places; I used pick up service without problems; it was great, if you want to go near Sultanahmet you have to go there! It's cheap too.

Well, it's hard to say, there are some good and some bad aspects. The good one is location, close to everything and close to the main landmarks.

Bad things, bathrooms (wc), really disgusting place, doesn't work well, you may have some surprises coming from the deepest parts of Istanbul. If it's for few days, it's fine, nothing you can die of really, though it could be way much better.

The staff depends on the day, there are some really nice people, and others it's hard to tell.

all in all, we survived, and we won't go back there for sure.

In compariseon price/facilities this hostel is the best in Istanbul. The staff is very friendly and reacts immediately on any question.

Room in really bad condition and dirty. Linen clearly wasn't changed, but luckly we had sleeping bags. Kitchen has only sink and kettle, no microwave and no fridge. Wifi doesn't work well every night after 7 o'clock. Don't recommend the laundry service, not cheap and not good. Good location and breakfast included.

Simply the best place to stay in Istanbul if you are looking for cheap and clean rooms. The hotel is in the heart of Istanbul, you can rich the Blue Mosque by walking in 5 minutes.

very good value for the money

no luxury place as you can expect, a little bit old everything,

BUT:

very clean, very helpful staff, perfect situation, nice and cosy atmosphere, a terrace on the last floor with a nice view

This hostel is the worst hostel/hotel i've ever visited. I'm from Turkish origin and i'm ashamed!

They wouldn't even change the sheats. They only threw som towels in the room and left... Don't stay for breakfast (words can't describe the THINGS we were served) and sooo unpolite people :S

Room and bathroom were very dirty. Also sheet were dirty.

They don't accept credit cards. It is a little strange because Istanbul is a very important and turistic city. In my opinion, the web site Hostels.com should give this important information in the hotel's description.

Paris Hostel is a cheap place to stay in Istanbul - the stuff was very friendly and always helpfull and the breakfast was good.

The furnishing is quiet old and the rooms are totaly basic without any decoration. The water-pipe Cafe in the cellar has a realy romantic atmosphere!

There are only two good points, the position and a nice people on th staff. It is really close to saint sophia and from the tram station. Also, they have internet for free even the sign it was low in my room. Anyway, the hotel has no good clean serves, they clean each two days and looks that clean mean only put away the trash and make the bed ( no any change in the bathrooms!!! ), also there are ants and looks like the heater does not work anymore!!!

staff is a little bit cold, except one.

internet is teorically free, but they let you use it only 20 minutes per day (after you have to pay)

downstairs from the hall there's a nice bar with a very nice man

position is great, near to the most attractive things in sultanhamet

The room is fine except some part of bath room. Breakfast is good and most of staffs are very good and helpful. Location is very close to Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya which is very convenient to the tourist. Price is acceptable.

they put an extra bed into our dorm without a word. also don't go to the turkish bath they have brochures for - very dodgy, guys perving on you and coming in when its supposed to be a female massage. wouldn't really recommend this hostel.

We stayed at Paris hotel & hostel in April 2008, we LOVEd the location of the place as both the Grand Bazaar and Ayasofia, Blue Mosque etc etc were just so close by... We recommend the place for the location and price :) and it had everything you need, incl a shower and a standard turkish breakfast :) :) and it is quite easy to find as they have put up signs to show you the way.. thanks a lot for the friendly staff!

no air conditioning!!!!which is very bad during the summer time! no elevator - I slept on the sixth floor. The showers are very weak. And there is noise on the terrace if you are sleeping on the 6th floor. People come and go.

this place is not a very good one, all the staff is very nice and gentle but rooms are very older and not very clean. you will be in the historical center of istanbul but if you want to go out for fun during the night, it's not the good neighbour..........

Great location and friendly staff. The rooms and bathrooms aren´t that nice, but if you don´t mind in staying in a typical "modest" backpackers hostel, go ahead.

The Paris hostel is very central in the old part of Istanbul. Nice staff and free internet (20 min). The rooms are quite hot in the summer. Just ask for clean towels when you want. Not interesting breakfast but close to supermarket with very cheap bread and fruit, and to Hippodromen, a nice park/place where you can sit down. The morning prayor from the blue mosque is quite loud but makes you feel local :-)
