White Mountains Hostel

Description

The hostel is a turn of the century New England farmhouse that has been totally renovated in 1995, when we first opened. It is located in the Mount Washington Valley and surrounded by over 750,000 acres of National Forest. The area provides a natural playground for climbers, skiers, mountain bikers, and hikers alike. Recreational activities abound year round. The area also attracts bargain hunters with its tax free shopping and large variety of outlet stores and antique shops. Formally known as the 'Hostelling International Conway Hostel' this hostel offers all the comforts and charm of a New England atmosphere.

Our Hostel has five dorm rooms, with six bunks in each room and four private rooms that can accommodate up to 5 people. All linens are provided and please, no sleeping bags. You may bring your own towels, or rent from us, and remember that we ask you to leave your shoes at the entrance, so you may want to bring slippers.Like most hostels, our bathrooms are in the hall. We have one private bathroom that is wheelchair accessible, a large mens room and a large womens room. None of our bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. We pride ourselves in the cleanliness throughout the hostel. We have a living room and dining room with comfortable furniture, and a cozy library with free WiFi Internet access to those bringing laptops. In the summer you can eat outside on our back lawn watching the sunset over the Moat Mountains or sit on one of our cozy porch benches. A house phone is available for free local calls, or you may use your calling card for long distance.We also have a newly equipped self-catering kitchen you may use, which includes two refrigerators, two stoves & ovens, a microwave and all the dishes and kitchen utensils you'll need. We have a few barbeques out in the summer, too.
*The Hostel is a smoke free environment.
*For health reasons, sleeping bags may not be brought into the hostel; pillows, blankets and sheets are provided, please bring your own towels or rent from us.
*Guests are asked to clean up after themselves, as there is no maid service.
*There is a fully equipped kitchen open for guests use from 6:00am-11pm . Please be courteous and adhere to these hours, unless you can be quiet as a mouse!
*The Hostel office is closed between 10am - 5pm, but as a guest you'll have 24 hour access!
*Check in is between 5-10pm.....if you cannot make it before 10pm, you must call us, and we will let you know how to get in. Once checked in, we'll tell you how to unlock the door - there is no curfew.
