when we arrived, the casa turned out to be double booked so we were moved to a neighbours house close by. Very nice lady but totally inappropriate...she slept on a couch between our room and the second bedroom (hers) qwhich had our children in it. She only had one set of keys and wanted us to be out of the house when she was out, and we could not come back when she was out. needless to say we fiound our own accomodation and moved out first hing in thee morning.

We certainly had problems on the day of your arrival. We apologized to you and offered a discount for the inconvenience caused to you, the room was ready for you the other day but you would prefer to retire. We once again apologize and we will be working so that this does not happen again.

Great location, right on the Malecon! The room was spacious and clean. The people where really nice and helpful! It was no problem for them when we wanted to check-out late because we had a late flight (without any charge). We loved every minute of our stay in Havana! Would definitely recommend everyone to stay here!

the outside of this place looked a bit shabby, but WOW this is one of the best places to stay in Havana. A second floor apartment with shared terrace looking out over the Malecon and the sea. All was nice and clean! Highly recommended!

Really warm friendly people! The room was lovely and the malecon is a beautiful sight for runners in the morning. Breakfast is very nice and Cherly and Annas plus the family really helped us out. Will visit again!

Good location to explore real Havana...was nice and clean don't get scared of neighborhood which looks rough all is safe...no Internet as expected in Cuba...land lady spoke some English...her employees are amazing!!

Nice view of ocean but bathroom and room very very small. Only shared balcony. Host spoke little English so not easy to communicate. Breakfast was good.

Very friendly host! very happy to help with directions and information about the city. the rooms are great a double bed and good AC. my room was ensuite as well. there is a nice balcony with a good view at the casa, so you can read a book or just watch the city. the house is on the malecon, a road along the sea where every comes to at night to socialise. the house is an easy 10 to 15 minutes walk from habana vieja the old town, the walk is nice along the waterfront.

An amazing place to stay in La Habana. It's a very clean and cool place and this house provides you the best experience in Cuba. Besides, it's very safe and the houseworkes are very friendly. For me, it's 100% in everything.

Great hosts. Very friendly. We had a clean, comfortable room with AC. Took advantage of the reasonably priced, delicious breakfast most days. The apartment is a short distance (20 minute walk or 3 CUC taxi) to the center of old Havana. The Apartment is really right by the sea with a great balcony where you can kick back and watch the waves or the old cars going past. The road in front of the apartment presents the only negative as it is very noisy all day and most of the night. Overall, this did not significantly detract from our enjoyment.

We liked "House in front the sea" very much. 1) The hosts were very polite, attentive. They greated us every time with a smile and were always ready to help. 2) The room was large, clean, well equipped. 3) The ocean view is the best in Havana! We could seat endlessly on the balcony!!! 4) It is located not far from the sights. I would recommend this place to everybody who wants to combine sighteeing and enjoying proximity to the ocean.

Do not make a reservation at this place. If they are full they place you in an other casa. They are liars.

it was a really good choice for me for the first nights in havana. the location is away from "old-havana" where all the bus tours r heading to, but still walkable in about 20 minutes, so u get a better idea about the "real" cuba. u can have a great breakfast with the view over the ocean. chely, the host, can speak a little english, i really wish i can speak any spanish. she is very helpful, for example arrenged me a good stay in Santiago, the next step on my journey. i will never forget the evening before i left to Santiago when i was sitting there with her husband, who cant speak any english, but we were "talking" about the life in cuba.. he cooked a very nice meal for dinner which was "donated" cus we shared lots of rum. i booked the casa for another 2 night before i had to leave for germany. so, i came back, and will if i will get back to cuba! then, i hope, im able to speak spanish to get more in touch!

The owner Chely is a very nice helpful person. Bevor you go out to rush into the cuban life you should take some advices of her :)
One of her rooms is very small, but we just stayed 1 nigh in it and changed the next day to the big bright room. Nevertheless both rooms and the whole flat are clean and nice. You get fantastic breakfast on the terrace with ocean view by the inhouse cook, a very sympathic and always smiling man!
I can really recommend Chelys place, have a nice stay!

I was very happy with the place. It is a little far from the center, but it makes you discover Vedado. The terrace and breakfast are definitely the highlight. The crew is great and very helpful. Very good price-quality relation.

We had a really nice stay 4-days long. We would recommend this accomodation and if back in Cuba again we will go there again for sure. The only negative aspect is the position: is not in the center of Havana Vieja, but if you rent a scooter is easy and quick to get there.

It has a good location near Malecon. However, the small room is really too small and the bed was ver uncomfortable. I recommend big room at the back site. There too much noise on the front side due to traffic.

We already know that if a bed for 2 people were sleeping 3 people including a baby would not be comfortable. I advised to you before you arrival that this was not the best choice for you and offered alternatives but you did not accept. Decent enough room but very loud as they rent out 4-5 rooms so it is like a hostel! Also, house is ON the main 4 lane highway and is constant noise. Host was icy cold to us as we chose not to buy any of her meals. Hard to blame us when street food is 2-25 times less expensive for better food. Terrible experience and would not go back.

I'm surprised with your review.Yes, we had a misunderstanding between us but. Nothing related to the purchase of food. nothing to do with the way I treat clients since all are important to me. But we live in community and there are common sense rules that we all must keep. Sorry. With his girl on purpose (so sweet she) Yes held talks and we offered our help and support for her prepare their food in our kitchen although not having a kitchen for guests.Above the noise all know that Havana is a bustling city in general. Old American cars, people singing, dancing precisely this is the magic of the city. Anyway I appreciate the criticism and suggestions will be taken seriously to improve ourselves every day pursue offering better stay to all our guests, thanks

The room was plain/basic but had a fridge in the room. The beds were springs covered with fabric. The hot water didn't work half the time. View from the front deck was great. Food was very good and the kitchen staff was great

A bit loudy during the weekends, excellent staff, excellent breakfast for only 4 CUC, very helpful family, positioned in front of the sea with great view, a bit further off the Old Havana, but within 20 minutes walking distance. Highly recommended for your experience and accommodation in Cuba. Hot water, clean, comfy.

We stayed 12th-15th DEC 2012,4nights.
Ana cooked Cuban style of soup and rise and fish for dinner cost only 8CUC. It was much better than the restaurants in Habana.
The view was great, as the name of Casa. The sea is the front of you! the location is perfect for night out, many clubs are walking distance and OK to walk night time.

Arrived and no room available for us
Found us a room upstairs in another venue however no private bathroom as we had booked
Plus didn't return the deposit already paid to them by us

We want to apologize to you because we had a broken air conditioning and you could not stay here. But we guarantee you that was in a room like you had reserved, in a house like you had reserved, up from sea and a terrace very similar, with a safe in the room, comfortable, private bathroom was only used by you, just outside the room at 2 meters, not returning the money because the conditions were the same, I do not understand is if you were not satisfied as were 7 nights? If you only had reservations for 2 and wanted to stay longer. Poor running water (like all places in Havana close to the sea). Only 1 person speaks English but they struggle to make you understand. Bedroom at the end of the corridor has tiny bathroom. Super-clean and friendly staff, make you feel at home. Second floor upstairs without elevator; horrible entrance but nice apartment. Malecon avenue is poluted and very noisy (also noisy nieghbors) . It gives you a good picture of REAL Havana. I would be back.

The place is without any doubt better than staying in Hotel National :) However you might need to practice spanis a bit to make yourself understand in the family. They can call the englis speaking guy anytime. Good place for a start in CUBA.

During your stay in this guest house you will feel like in home. This place has an excellent view to the Malecon, and is close to Havana Vieja. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and you will get a great service. The owners are very friendly.
