36 ROOMS Hostel Berlin-Kreuzberg

It was a horrible experience with staff. The receptionist was so rude and he doesn't know how to speak politely. Also room & toilet was dirty. I asked them about kitchen, they said its closed because of COVID. It doesn't make any sence to show kitchen pictures on website and really they are making people fool.

Receptionist need to learn some manners.

I would never recommend this dirty place to anyone.

They have some space to offer more cleanliness and better services.

We stayed in a room that smelled really bad,so bad to the point I felt sick, I complaint and they did nothing. The kichen was dirty and messy for days. I don`t recommend this hostel.

Nice outside space and useful kitchen but both close very early. Lots of cool bars and clubs nearby and very fun and friendly staff. Kitchen is quite dirty and no hot water in showers...

Very nice staff, and a free computer in the lobby. The area has a lot of great food. Dubious people at the S Bahn stop, but not a danger. There is a good bus service too. I had a private room, 2 Euro extra for the towel and no daily room clean but that is not a problem.

Great place, good location, nice staff and athmosphere. A perfect place to stay for one-two nights.

There was no warm water on sunday morning

Had a great stay in the hostel. All staff I had come across was nice and tried to help. Would recommend this place to anyone going to Berlin.

the hostel was not able to check me in at 8pm due to technical problems that has been going on all day.

According to booking conditions they should have help me to find another place and pay for transport, none of it was done.

the resort does not even know who and where customers are staying. technical problem or not, a back up isn t rocket science, is it??

the staff didn't care and was too busy on fb.

I want a refund for a booking that you could not honor. 

All it's ok for me

The single room is not that bad, and very quiet. And is much more clean that you can expect after reading some comments of the hostel. However, this is not a spotless place. The location is top.

Would definitely stay here again

Location is in a great eclectic neighborhood good for food and walking but a bit further from the 'main center' of downtown attractions so we spent a bit on taxis (always cheaper ways to get around though). Staff was excellent and friendly at all hours, would certainly recommend.

Lousy and ugly. Very indifferent staff. Lots of noise from doors slamming all night long and people shouting in the staircase.

I have slept in on railwaystations that are more cosy than 36Rooms. Would not recommend it. At all.

We booked for a private room with 2 beds. We go a room with one twin bed, and it was so tiny that I did not know where to keep my stuff.

Toilets and showers were not clean.

The pictures do not represent the actual place. Reception was pretty tidy, but our room was TRASHED. Very dirty (literal dirt on the floor), and clearly hadn't been any housekeeping for weeks. The bathrooms were not very clean. The hallway had construction going on (which we were not informed of), and the women's bathroom was locked, so we had to use the men's bathroom. Don't stay here -- not worth the cheap cost. You won't sleep well.

The water in the shower was very very cold!

i have been in several hostels in berlin, it is the second time i prefer this one. It could be a bit more organised but overall i like it more because it really feels like home.

you will get what you paid, fortunately toilet and shower room is not that messy compared with the number of ppl who are using that. Lobby and the attitude of staff is not good. Bed, room, and locker are all not in a good situation. Just good for solo traveler or students who want to stay in Berlin cheap. Location is not bad but little far from the station and there's many drunken ppl or loud ppl around the hostel.

The Wifi connection did not work.

The ladies in reception were not nice.

Absence of elevators is a real drawback to climb almost 5 floors with your luggage.

The wi-fi in the room was not available for the duration of my stay.

The beds were very squeaky.

The showers lack privacy.

Nice location! In the middle of everything and close to public transit. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They charge extra for towels, 2eu and you don't get it back . Kitchen is closed at night, so I got locked out and couldn't get to my cheese. Bathrooms clean but lots of water on the floor from poor location of showers. All in all good place to stay!

Wifi did not always work and when it did it would take a long time to connect and was really slow. Also really really annoying guests who would blast music at all hours of the day

God! Slept one night quiet a place that I would recommend to others.

Not friendly and unhelpful staff. Great location. Double room a bit pricey for what you get.

Great location and nice room. I was travelling alone and had a doubleroom by myself, it was quiet and nice even though people seemed to go out partying etc. The hostel is placed in the heart of Kreuzberg with lots of nice places and cafees nearby. A small warning against Gôrlitzer station and park, lots of drug-dealers there, just dont look at/talk to them and you will be fine:) Otherwise all was great, I hired a bicycle at the hostel and really recommend this if you want to get around easily. Thanks for a great stay!

Our room was way to small...

Internet access IS NOT READILY AVAILABLE (limited capacity) so often a very long wait to use 1 of the 2 hostel computers - much anxiety in the meantime. This compromised my recommendation.

Bedrooms are standard, location is ideal for seeing kreuzberg and has the most incredible Lebanese takeout next door (number 11/12 is the bang bang). Bathrooms are dirty but my main issue with this place is that the kitchen is shut at meal times. It's locked 12pm-3pm and then shuts again at like 6pm for the day so it's completely pointless and very annoying. Probably wouldn't stay again but if you are just passing through its good.

The staff was accommodating and friendly and I absolutely loved the location because it as next to an amazing paark and there are a lot of interesting restaurants around also. The only things not positive about the hostel were that the internet only worked in the reception/dining area, the kitchen had very limited hours, and there were a lot of young high school aged children staying there.

we return every year. there is always one or two People that make our stay exceptional, especially when we returned from Fusion Festival, we were given the most amazing room. will def be returning, as long as there are no school trips! School children should not be allowed to stay

For just one night it was ok. But I've slept in so many better hostels for the same value

I enjoyed my stay in 36 rooms, the other people in the hostel were always friendly. I was in an 8 bed mixed dorm. Naturally you get woken up a fair bit during the night with people coming and going. The reception staff were a bit cold but always helpful when asked. While the hostel was neat, it wasn't really clean, but if you don't look to hard it's fine. While the neighbourhood is very handy for transport and there are some great little restaurants and cafes in the area, it's a bit dodgy, you can't sit in the park or get of the ubahn without being approached by drug dealers.

Overall I would recommend 36 rooms!

Bad service. Did not tell us anything, about towels or wifi or anything. Wifi did not work in our room and when we asked the people were rude and didn't help us at all. Like they could not do anything about anything. Do not recommend.

Was the second time for me at 36 rooms and it was great! Better then the first time. The staff was nice, the room clean, the position was good and the price was really chip!

Very loud. Did not control guests. No quiet hours. Lots of drugs. Dirty. Will never be staying again. No building security as door was never locked.

Perfect place if you are looking for hostel with a an attitude. Nothing fancy but ideal if you are adventurous.

The location and the price of the hostel are perfect! Besides that not everyone of the staff is really friendly and the guests aren't always that social either. I hoped I would meet some new people, but unfortunatly this was less than I expected. There were more older people than I'm used to who prefered to be on their own. It's realy pity, because of this I didn't like it that much.

Good choice for those who want to stay cheap. Rooms are nice and spacious. Bathrooms are clean and neat. Location is great, close to metro stop, many bars and clubs and eating places.
