The receptionist could be very rude. He had a terrible argue with another guest, that we heard from our room. (1floor between). We booked 4 nights and after 3 they said, we missed the check out time (in a very unfriendly tone). We had to show our reservation, then he was friendly again. Ambivalent feeling at this place. Also the heating dind't work...

The hotel is just few minutes walk from the main train station, which was very convenient. Its also very close the city centre (Doumo). The hotel was clean the the staff were friendly. The shared WC is a little away from the room (depending which room you get). It could get a bit noise at night as the hotel is close to a main road.

I highly recommend Hotel Pensione Ottaviani. It made our first nights in Florence very nice due to the cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms. I will come back here again.

It is a very nice and cosy hotel, close to the station and city centre. We visited this hotel with a large group of people (17) and they were very helpfull.

Be ready, the furniture is rather old (the furniture of grandmothers, but clean)

We had a fantastic time in Florence and the Ottaviani made it even better! great, friendly staff (thanks again Giovanni! ;)), clean rooms and a perfect location was just what we wanted to enjoy our stay. perfetto :)))

Close to the train station and historical centre of Firenze, nice breakfast. We had a room with shared WC, but we had a shower in the room. The room was very big. Quite noisy during the night. We do recommend this place.

Good size room and bed. There is a shower in the room but is super small. Still ended up using the public shower. Nice staff. Pretty close to the station.

A very small hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay. It's location minutes from the train station is ideal. It is close to everything. The breakfast was great and a fantastic value as well!

Hotel Ottaviani was very clean. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. They even helped us book our flights to Sicile (the flight website was in italian only). The location is great, it's very close to the train station and walking distance to just about any sites in the city. It's not the kind of place to stay to meet new people, but if you're there to discover the city then it's perfect for you.

Very close to the city center. Very polite and helpfull staff. Quite noisy streets = noisy nights. Ideal for a quick stop in Florence.

I did not live in Hotel Pensione Ottaviani because they didn't receive my reservation. It was not their fault, it was hostelsclub who didn't send them the reservation email.... Anyway, they didn't just ignore us anyway which was good, as some would have just done so... They transferred us to their another hotel. It should be referred as a whole appartment instead of just a room. To sum up, the staff of Hotel Pensione Ottaviani is nice and the location is great.

Convenient to train and buses, but also if you get one of the street rooms it is excessively noisy. No air conditioning so if you don't want to suffocate you must leave the shutters open. So take your earplugs. Otherwise we were very pleased with the place just wished we had had a back room. Ours included a sink and shower in the room and some even had full baths so a shared toilet wasn't a problem. Staff was great although most spoke little or no English which I actually liked.
