Conte House

the staff are really nice and helpful. gave us a lot of useful advice about the trip in Rome. near the metro station. all equipment needed is provided.

Well located hostel, right in the centre of Rome, very friendly and helpful staff, free internet access. Room and breakfast simple, but good for that price. Bathroom smelled bad.

It was a really nice stay at Conte House, Fabio was really helpful and I really recommend this Hostel!!!

from my point of view: i would prefer that they use not plastic-dishes for the breakfast, but appearantly that is normal for italy =/

and WATCH THE CHECK-IN time! i came too early and nobody was there..

the internet works perfektly and you can use it whenever you want to! same with the fridge!

there is even a tiny balcony you can sit and have breakfast on! that is really nice!

the location is perfect as well; it is close to the statoin Roma Termini as well as the colosseum

Very nice place in a good neighbourhoud with good restaurants and public transport. Colosseum at walking distance. we did not stay home for the 'italian'. Hop on the street and get a coffee and something to eat in the bars (the italian way).

Conte house was a very positive surprise: the location is very good (we never needed to take any kind of public transportation; very good place to eat nearby - la Cuccuma or smth); the room was clean with towels, soap and shampoo, cleaning was done every day w/o exception; Fabio (the owner) was nice and friendly, the breakfast was simple but good (much better than expected). Fun: we were not looking for fun at the B&B-just a place to sleep, so no problem. Atmosphere: Only some loud guests of the B&B might be a problem in the night. In short: I would recommend it!

Great location and price.

nice room. Breakfast was fine, but italian (coffee, tea and milk & prepacked crossaints). wifi Internet did not always work, but there is a computer on which you can use internet for free.

Hostel is OK. My recommendation for everybody who search good place for reasonable money.

The only thing that is negative is the breakfast. Coffe and a croiassant. Small and simple and it been served on a table in the corridor. You can not sit down at the table.

conte house was a very affordable choice for our group. we had a private room/bath and it was pretty spacious. we also got the only balcony which was really nice! the breakfast was mediocre, just basic pastries and coffee. the location was not in the city-center, but it was really close to the coliseum which was nice. you had to take the metro to things like the trevi fountain, spanish steps, etc. but it was a short ride and not difficult to get to the station from conte house. the staff was very friendly - they let us keep our bags there the day we were checking out (we did some sightseeing during the day since our departing flight was in the early evening). overall, i would recommend conte house. thanks for the great service!

a little old,but have a good position

I was there from 5.02.2010 till 7.02.2010.The hostel is very well located, near to metro station, near to Termini station and all historical places.The breakfast is very poor, only one croasan per person and coffe, tea or milk. Is clean and very hot inside wich is cool. We were there 9 girls and we have a nice time. It is cool place for 20 EU per night !!!

The best place I have been to. Lot's of other hostels in Rome are much worse! A very good place to stay! I recommend Conte House!

Nice and central.

It was a nice little hotel but the staff was unpolite and didn't speak english!Although it didn't have curfew, if you make any noise after 10 pm, they rebuke you

good location, could be a bit closer to the main places, very clean, internet could be available for longer, professional staff, could be a bit more social and open :D, generally good place to stay!

The place was in a great location but it was impossible to sleep with the noise of the busy street right outside of the window (that doesnt really shut). The manager was not vary friendly. However, for the price we paid it was worth the location, just buy some ear plugs.

nice cheap b&b without breakfast, just a cup of coffee and a croissant. good bed, but very loud.Never forget earplugs!

very central, just 10 min walk to colosseum.

Perfect place, perfect price. Only, traffic noise from the Via Merulana a little annoying at night, even with the window closed. Anyway, very satisfying.

Very clean, conviently located to the Colosseum / Roman Forum on Via Merulana. Many cafes and shops on this street make for easy meals, but the street is busy, and the noise is harsh inside the front-facing room. Accomodations were clean, private, comfortable, and worth the price, but bring earplugs! Breakfast is a beverage and roll served to the room at 8:30 or 9:00 sharp. No problem with booking, reservations, or billing but Vicki, the hostess, does not speak English - best to brush up on Italian before check-in! Overall, this is a safe bet for travellers on a budget who plan to spend time sightseeing, and for those who want to relax in the afternoons.
