great location, great people...if only the toilets were working

Great place, very authentic but homely and gives you exactly what you need - a bed, shower, wifi, and somewhere to relax. Plus a free breakfast! Would stay here again.

The beds were clean and comfortable, but the bathroom was really dirty, with big puddles on the floor. The rest of the hostel was good, and the staff were friendly. The breakfast was simple (toast and various spreads) but nice.

Great location near the central station and staff is helpful but the lack of cleanliness in bathroom or in beds is annoying (except if you have bed-linen).

Dirty and expensive

Easily the most horrible hostel where I stayed. I booked for two nights but spend here only one. Only lockers are placed in basement and it was quite creepy. There are only one key per room. So if someone is (even sleeping) in the room, door is open.

Great location from Amsterdam Centraal and most of the main attractions. Grocery store right next door.

Staff was friendly and helpful, even addressing me by name.

Bathrooms were reasonably clean for number of people in the room, but they need better curtains to keep water in the shower and the rest of the place dry. Shelving in the bathroom would've been nice.

Breakfast is coffee/tea/milk/juice, and bread with cheese, butter, jam, peanut butter, or Nutella. Nothing fancy, but it was enough.

Staff is the best - shout out to Ana and Johnny. Located in one of the most central and busy streets in Amsterdam. Beds are comfortable. Rooms are clean, basement not really. Smoking "room" has its charm.

Overall, I was expecting less has I booked a week before my stay (April 7-14), but Aroza surpassed my expectations and I can recommend it to every free spirit who wants to spend some time in Amsterdam.

Not clean

Aroza Hostel is a good place where one gets both a friendly atmosphere and a quiet environment.

The only thing I wasn't happy about was cleaning standards, but overall I would advise anyone to stay there.

Very nice staff, conveniently located and decently priced, but...my room, esp my bathroom, was disgustingly dirty and in disrepair, and never cleaned during my 4 day stay.

It's the worst hostel I've ever stayed in. For three nights the bathroom hasn't been cleaned once. The don't even change sheets and bins. There was no toilet paper either.

The cleanliness was an issue, especially the washroom. Isnpite of requesting that it be cleaned up - it wasn't. It was ignored. The only saving grace is the location. The reception had a staff named Manon (hope i spelled that correctly) The lady was helpful, polite and extended all necessary assistance with respect to directions etc.

The room was dirty, the shower didnt have a head.

The stairs are terrible, the lockers are half broken.

Wouldnt recommend anyone to stay there.

Cheap and affordable, amazing location, decent rooms. Staff were friendly and helpful and the location doesn't really get any better (1 min from central station)

It would be handy if there was a microwave. And also the toilet in our room was leaky, but apart from that I found the staff fantastic, especially the lady at the reception on the Sunday morning!

Staff were very friendly and good fun! Don't expect luxury rooms, it is a backpacker hostel. Most of your time will be spent out on the town anyway.

when we arrived we asked to book one more night without any problem. you can come to the hostel at any hour there is always someone in the reception. the position is really fantastic a few minutes from the central station and practically in the center of Amsterdam

Eh, it was alright. Noise really travelled so it was pretty noisy at night. Also the bathroom was absolutely filthy/disgusting. Common area and staff were pretty good, and it is a good location.

I was in the room 202 and I saw that some parts of the bed structure was broken (I think they are old),the bathroom was not in good conditions too(it was dirty, the shower curtain was improvised),there was no locker in the room.In the first night there was a person more in the room, and this person picked my girlfriend´s pillow and she had to ask for another one at the reception. Another problem are the keys, I think you can introduce a system only with a card to open the doors, or at least a key for each gast.

Great place to stay. great location. friendly faces behind reception and pretty ones too. Toilet was leaking but other than that was clean and tidy.

If you just want a bed and a breakfast and do not expect any luxury, its the prefect place to be.

For the money one of the best places in Amsterdam. Only 500m from the central station, great staff, cheap and the breakfast was OK also: eggs, cheese, juice, coffee, nuttella, penutbutter, bread. Also the next building to the hostel is supermarket. They can work a bit on the cleanliness :), but overall we had a great time.

NEVER GO THERE!!! It's the worse hostel I've ever been. It's filthy, weird staff who has no idea on how to deal with guests, the locker isn't safe. I booked 2 nights, but changed my mind as I arrived there. I tried to cancel but the owner, who looks like an assassin, didn't accept saying it would be hard to book my bed. In the same day there were people sleeping in the sofa, on the floor, in the locker!!!

This hostel was very dirty and not clean. There is only one key to each room, so often times the rooms are left unlocked. The luggage lockers are in a dungeon-like basement. I would not stay here again. It was one of the worst hostels I have ever stayed in.

Didn't have high expectations as reviews were mixed, was pleasantly surprised really clean, staff were friendly and helpful with looking after luggage, will stay here again.

Good choice if you're coming to Amsterdam for a weekend and your only goal is to have fun.

Great position! No doubt about that... But be controlled -rudely- at night while sleeping because some strangers have sneaked into the place, was not so professional, like yelling at customers who are supposed to leave when others are sleeping. Breakfast is lame

rats in bedrooms. the hostel is located on the main street close to the central station whoch on 1 hand makes it convenient to get everywhere, on the other hand it s incredibly noisy. the service is nice, the breakfest is ok, generally ok

One of the worst hostels I have ever been, in Amsterdam and elsewhere... Dirty (the bed linen were stinking like hell), very unconfortable to go upstairs (small and very steep stairs), lockers are borken wood boxes and located in the underground floor together with the rubbish.... and all this for 35 euro per night in a shared 8 beds-room. In the end, just DON'T GO THERE!!!

VERY friendly staff, breakfast until 10 oclock for those who dont get out of bed, cheap..The bathroom wasn ttoo clean, but the bed are sooo comfy :)
