There are 99 steps from reception to rooms 11 - 14. Be careful when walking downwards, steps are quite narrow. Getting warm water for shower and water presure were not ok every morning. Bed was good.

The attention is only between 8 AM and 10 PM. If something happens at midnight theres no one to attend or inform you about nothing.

The room that they gave us was horrible, in the basement. There was no calefaction in the room, and it was freezing so I had to take by myself an eletric stove tha was at de dining room/kitchen. All the place is freeze, we felt like we where in the Antártica.

The breakfeast was awful: they don´t do a thing, they only heat the water and you get dehydrated coffee. There is a bread and give you opened and already use jam jars. No butter, no nothing.

The toilettes are very dirty: some of them don´t have sink for washing your hands. The bathroom is in another place, are too small and the one that is in de basement is a mortal trap: it has a folding door installed backwards without a handle from the inside, so if you close it you cant get out.

The location it´s no so bad. You have Cromwell Road that has places to go out to eat, but it´s far form the centre (Picadilly). The staff it´s so so. One of the girls was very cold and the other kind. But when asked a question, could not give me any answers. Also they were making arrangements in the hostel building and in the morning it was impossible to sleep. They didn´t cared about the people that was sleeping.

Very nice and helpful staff! The hostel has perfect location, less than 5 min walk to the underground. Our room was very well cleaned everyday and the blankets were warm. Thank you for a nice stay, we'll be coming back!

The staff was helpful and nice. The price was according to me well woth it. Location is brilliant, the room was clean, sheets and towels were clean. Bathrooms were alright aswell. Cleaning staff was working on the days. The Wifi was alrigt, a bit bad on the upper floors, but worked fine on the others. All in all, we had a good stay and as said, the price was well worth it. I'd recomend staying at cruzon house.

Doesn't live up to the discription. Over prized...totally run down. Other places in same prize range much better. Never again.. Only good thing fresh bread and cold milk.

Very old hostel, totally messy with dirty smelly sheets in the cupboard. Not renovated at all. Quite cheap but still doesn't worth the trip. Very poor breakfast with moisty cornflakes and you are required to do your own dishes.

the only good point of this hostel was the position: really close to the underground and in a beautiful neighborhood.

But there were snales in our room what is very dirty. In the kitchen there is no saucepan or frying pan. And one of the two women of the staff is really unwelcoming.

Dear Guest,we are very sorry to note that you were unhappy with your stay with us.We do understand that a simple hostel is not everyone's "cup of tea" and that while the price is advantageous, some guests,in reality,in need of a higher category with extended services.

Our staff did their very best with the kindness and willingness to help and patience, which they always display in any situation (e.g.you guys ate your breakfast sitting in breakfast lounge among other guests in your nighties right straight from your beds)

We do receive a great number of happy and positive comments, with many returning guests, and simply wish to re-assure you that our sole aim was to do our very best, and that you were welcome guests.

with kind regards

It's an horrible place to stay even for a night! It is very dirty, dark and scary... The people is very rude and the services like breakfast and use of kitchen are not given as announced!! They are liers. It is a very bad hostel, the worst I have ever been!
The owner's reply
Dear Mr. Santos,

you stayed with us only 1 night, pity you did not mention that you two got triple room at the price of a twin one. The other thing is you checked out next day at 5 o'clock in the morning, so what breakfast are you talking about?

How honest are you?

We were very very very late for check in, but the staff was so nice to wait for us =)

The hostel is not directly in the city, but the underground station is near.

The rooms were very clean. Breakfast included =)

Ok, how should I start. First of all the location is perfect and the district is good and calm. But the hotel is nevertheless quite dirty and rooms are really lousy. Part of the staff are very nice but not every one. Hot water is a bonus. A good choice for those how are not going to spend lots of time in their hotel room.

The hotel was filthy, buts on the floor, the service after making our beds left the room unlocked for a couple of hours, had some problems with the locks, the receptionist after calling her through the phone and asking to come and help answered she cannnot and we had to manage ourselves, breakfast was late and the room very basic, nothing good can I write about it, I wouldn't recommend it even to my enemy.
The owner's reply
Dear Mr.Maliszewski,

could you be so kind and tell us if it was such a bad stay, why you did not leave after first night but stayed with us for as long as 5 nights? It does not make any sense.

Ida, Finland - Aug 08, 2011

It was really really bad.. The stuff was impolite and if you wanted to come with a complain they didn't listen, just asked you to leave the hotel. They throwed a bag down the stairs while calling us stupid. Impossible to talk rationally with them. The worst service ever. And the rooms were dirty, the lights didn't work and the water was cold.

They we're so crazy we asked them to give us our money back. We rather slept on the cold floor at the airport than in this hotel. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here. It was very unprofessional.

Low cost hotel/hostel - very central. The rooms and bathrooms were not so nice - the kitchen didn't "invite for cooking" only in the microwave oven. The door to the bathroom could only be closed if slamming it hard. In general poorly maintained. No light at the beds (not possible to read in the bed). Nice warm water, breakfast OK (toast), new towels every day.

The room was great, new furniture, clean sheets. Hotel location is excellent, the tube, shops, post office, restaurants ... that is all very close. But the kitchen is horrible, dirty plates and even a rat. Kitchen was closed for 2 days so that they could kill the rat, but 2 days later there were still rat poops in the dining room.

The staff were rude, kitchen was locked up at night and cant be used until 10am, which didn't matter cause they never let you use half the appliances in there. the bathrooms are full of mold and no on street parking. major maintenance needs to be done like light bulbs and leaking toilet. breakfast was continental but started 30mins after it displayed when the lady bothered to arrive. nowhere in building to watch a tv or comonon room. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Not so clean, no hot water in the en suit room with four beds, one morning the breakfest was late and kitchen closed. The room was very cold and the window can't be properly closed. I suggest it only to those who will not spend much time in the room and position is excellent.

The best thing about Curzon Hotel is its position next to Gloucester Road tube station. The person charged with reception was not very friendly when I arrived but, she was probably having a bad day, as the next day she smiled at me. The room number 2 had 4 beds but only 3 pillows. It was the beginning of March but freezing cold in room 2 and the thin cover didn’t help me warm up. I had to put on an extra sweater. In the morning I took a cold shower as the hot water faucet was broken. After that I discovered a seemingly working shower at the very last top floor, but I didn’t try it. One shower is enough for one day. In the kitchen the microwave was the only thing new as the covers of the tables were washed out and torn here and there. However the atmosphere was rendered enjoyable by the radio and some photo frames on the walls.

Nice place. The location is near a metro so it's easy to get around, but there didn't seem to be all that much in the neighborhood. The included breakfast was good but simple.

Very nice house from the outside, very nice neighbourhood! BUT: very old and trashy from the insight! It's okay for a few nights to stay, if you're not planing to spend a lot of time at the hostel. Pipes are really loud at night so earpligs are kind of necessary.

Small room with a double bed, brand-new furniture, and well-vacuumed floor. It was convenient to have a basin but the cold water tap leaked. Shared toilet/shower was basic and worn but adequate. Breakfast was self-served muesli and toasts. The muesli was delicious. There is TV, internet access and a fridge in the dining room which is open from 7:30am to 11:30pm.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom at the front. It is the dirtiest noisiest hostel I have ever stayed at. The pipes banged all night and kept us awake. Luckily the receptionist gave us a refund for the second night so we moved to another hotel. Next time I will stay in a YHA hostel.

the position is really good and the staff too, but the structure of the hostel is really old, the kitchen and the living room are closed by the staff at 11.30 pm so if you want to relax or stay at the computer it's quite impossible....

Great location and cheap beds, seems to me as most important if you visit such a big city with loads to do.. If you prefer a big room and good service you'd better go somewhere else.

Great position, one of the best spots in London Zone-1.

The double room I had, however, was TINY, as well as the double bed.

Problems for having hot water in the shower.
