Phoenix Hostel

The location is very convenient, especially if you need to be close to Paddington station as it was my case. For sure it was very cheap but the rooms really need some cleaning, as it was generally quite dusty. Also I got scared when I saw a little mouse freely hunging around in the lounge room :)

The staff were very helpful, great location, great facilities, very clean, free tea/coffee/water.

Great staff. Quick to deal with any enquiries, however trivial. Dorms good size; bathroom/showers kept clean.

I love this hostel! I've stayed here a few times and it's my favorite hostel in London. After traveling for 6 months, it's the perfect place to chill and look for a job or make plans for the next part of your journey. I would definitely recommend this hostel!

Bunks beds were triple. Not much room if you have a lot of bags. Slightly cramped. Clean. Great location, 5-10 min walk to baker st. Station + many restaraunts. Young crowd. I would return for no more than 2 nights.

Very well located, in Central London, close to tube station. Acommodation is basic, but clean (bed and toilets). My room was small, so if you want privacy or you mind others guests noise is not the place. Good for travellers looking to meet people.

We enjoyed our stay at the Phoenix Hostel. The staff were very helpful and kind. We didn't have any problems with security. We didn't even need to use the secure lockers, just kept our suitcases under the bunk beds. Breakfast was also very cheap and good. Overall a great experience for the money.

Well....The price is really cheap...and they even provide u free coffee and milk.. What can you expect anymore?

perfect for spending a week-end at London, close to main tubes lines. small showers and almost no tap were working, but it is enough for 2 nights

Great staff, very polite and friendly.

But everything in the hostel is too tight. Stairs are so narrow you can hardly pass. Beds are stuffed in small rooms on 2 or 3 levels, almost no place for a suitcase or backpack. The luggage room is in the basement and it's very hard to reach.

Toilets and showers are kept clean but are in poor condition.

I wouldn't go back there.

A little run-down but overall a safe and comfortable place to stay. The mattresses are a little shabby, but the rooms are nice enough. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and there is always someone at reception. The hostel is very safe and near 2 tube stations. It is a little hard to find though at first.

I stayed in Phoenix for three weeks, and it was a great and enjoyable experience!I remember some staff member among which a French guy, I think the name was Tarik, who was absolutely nice, always smiling and very very very helpful!Thank you again, London really was special!!!

Fungus on the walls of the showers should be removed, the beds should be made stronger, more variation in breakfast, bar was great!

With its cheap rates, the phoenix hostel covers the basics of what you're paying for. The showers were tiny, but it was clean and there was always hot water. The beds are a bit squeaky but it'll get you through the night. The breakfast is a variety of cereals and toast, with unlimited tea and coffee throughout the day. Location is a 3 minute walk to Marylebone Station/Tube. Tesco express is around the corner. The area is safe, i travelled solo (female) and it felt safe at night. Overall, this hostel is not in great condition, but it's what you get for its cheap price. If you just want somewhere with a shower and a bed, this is it.

If the showers are a big deal for you, don't stay at Phoenix hostel, but otherwise it was OK.

the service was ok, however the building certainly might be improved. it was a very difficult task taking showers there, as about the contents of hot water as about the conditions of the bathrooms avaliable. so the lockers are in inadequated sizes to keep the usual handbags inside in safe conditions.

but anyway its always clean and tidy as its possible

This place is a great location if your visiting the attractions, also close to public transport. It has a lovely friendly environment, with staff such as beccy who make your stay even better with how welcome she made me feel. The price is also very good for such a central spot. Gemma x

This was a great place to stay. The location was fantastic, close to tube stations and touristy places like oxford street and regents park. The staff here were wonderful, very helpful and friendly!

Camere piccole pero' l'hotel è tranquillo, pulito. E' situato in una zona comodissima,vicina al centro,facilmente raggiungibile sia di giorno che di notte con metro e bus

For the price, it's a great hostal with a friendly staff. Rooms are decent size (I was in a 10-bed dorm) and guests were all pleasant (at least happy to stay out of your way). Bathrooms are tiny and showers could use a bit cleaning, but overall a great hostal.

down stair of the hostel is a bar. so even if u get too drunk, u wouldn't get lost ur way back.

don't go in that horrible hostel!!!!It's dirty,there are no mirrors,the bathroom are too small,the staff is not so friendly,and there was a mouse in my room!!!!in fact was impossible to live there!!!

A fantastic stay, nice clean bedrooms and bathrooms and a good night sleep after a great night in the awesome bar downstairs!

We were only there for a few nights but was great for what we needed it for! only a short walk to oxford street which was great and only 5 min walk from the nearest tube station! nice choice for breakfast in the morning and a very much needed map was given out to us too! enjoyed our stay very much.
