Buenos Aires is a city that surprises, that you discover slowly, revealing aspects that the pictures seen on internet were not able to tell.

Buenos Aires is a popular destination, many Italians fit it into the journey's plan every year, returning home with that extra thing that only a city like this can give you.

Maybe this year it's your turn, maybe after years of dreams, you are finally able to buy a ticket to go to Argentina, that's why we want to give you some pre-departure advice.

WHERE TO STAY

To choose the structure where to sleep in Buenos Aires, it is important that you know, first of all, that you should choose the neighborhood where to stay in.

In particular we want to suggest you 2, the San Telmo and the Palermo, two beautiful and peacefully areas.

San Telmo

In the San Telmo area you can find the Garden House BA, a hostel created by a traveler with a clear vision: to be a reference point for backpackers who arrive in Buenos Aires.

In San Telmo there's also Puerto Limon, a hostel opened in 2007 and during these years has built a very good reputation among travelers. The hostel is modern and retro style, a mix that you will not forget.

Palermo

In the Palermo area, however, we suggest you two other hostels: the Borge Hostel, a design hostel where you will feel as if you were staying in a hotel, for a very low price.

The other one is theArt Factory Palermo, also modern and centrally located, great for a first trip to Buenos Aires.

WHAT TO EAT IN BUENOS AIRES

A dish that you must try is the Argentine Asado, grilled meat. In particular, try to order the Bife Ancho, a "large" beef steak, as the name implies, with baked potatoes.

WHEN TO GO IN BUENOS AIRES

The best time to visit Buenos Aires is the summer, between December and January, at least you're sure to find beautiful and sunny days where you can enjoy the Argentine heat to 360 degrees.

LITTLE TRUST TO TAXI DRIVERS

As in many big cities, the dishonesty of the taxi drivers is at home. Keep an eye on the taximeter and do not get duped when the price will increase by 15% including, without your permission, the tips. You can give the tips, but you have to decide it and not the driver.

CAUTION IN VISITING THE CAMINITO

The Caminito is one of the folk areas of the city, it would seems to move in a completely different city, where colors overflowing.

But the Caminito is not exactly a safe, non-hazardous, area. Just be careful anyway. Try not to go out with a visible camera, leave your valuables in the hotel and try to confuse you among the people, without looking like a tourist ready to be robbed.

DO NOT CHANGE THE CASH IN AIRPORT

Last tip, but not least, is to do not change your cash at the airport. Do it in the bank before leaving, or, once in Buenos Aires, go to one Money Exchange that you will find on the street ... you'll save some money!
