We have already shown you which islands that can't be missed in Greece in summer, and now we have taken on an even greater challenge: two of the most popular cities for tourists - Santorini and Athens.

Which one do you prefer?

Santorini

If Santorini is famous for something, it's the magnificent sunsets. Any part of the island would be the perfect place to enjoy the sunset, but if you want to enjoy this magical experience to the max, we recommend you to see it from the top of Oia Castle.

Without leaving Oia, you can find some stairs that take you down to Amoudi Bay. You can simply stay there admiring the beautiful landscape that nature has to offer, but, if you want a bit of adrenaline, take a leap and jump into the warm waters of Aegean.

Food and drink costs very little in Santorini. It is common to see vendors wander the streets of the island with all kinds of typical products. So, you can enjoy, for example, a glass of "ouzo" for 1 to 3 euros, or a delicious plate of "gyros" for only 2 euros.

WHERE TO SLEEP IN SANTORINI

There are many beautiful hostels in Santorini, so to make things easier for you, we have selected what we think are the best 3 at the moment: the Anny Studios Perissa Beach, the Fira Backpackers Place and the Paradise Resort.

Athens

You can surely remember the history of the Greeks, years of wars, writings and sculptural and theatrical works that are still admired today, so coming to Athens means being able to see the incredibile history you have alwasy learnt about, with your own eyes.

Athens is so rich in culture, with indoor and outdoor musuems, temples, churches, and more, that you will spoilt for choice with what to see.

Athens is an suprisingly cheap city, so going on vacation here means spending, having fun, eating out ... without being afraid of emptying your wallet.

The disco parties are famous, but if you don't love to dance, you will surely find something else to do without difficulty, the city is rich of coffee shops, chocolate shops and lovely places to drink tea.

In addition, their connections with the islands are more than efficient. If, during your trip, you want to leave Athens and visit the neighboring islands, don't worry, the transport links are very efficient and in a short while you can get to many nearby places by boat, plane or even by sailboat - the choice is yours!
